IT IS NOT scientific to test qualified KN95 masks by pouring water into them. The dripping test is just a rumor. Firstly, water will destroy the protection ability of the melt blown filtering layer, that means: Water will destroy the effectiveness of the face mask; Secondly, too much water has weight (universal force[Laugh]) , so too much water will drip. Also, : The first layer of nonwoven material can let O2 (= oxygen ) pass through the face mask. That is why, the 1st Layer of face mask cannot 100% block water, especially when there is too much (for example, a cup of Water , too much water !!) pour in the face mask. This is not a scientific test and should not be used. Did you get shipment info from Bonafide? I didn't hear anything yet.
I would still buy the BYD 20 bucks/ 50 masks or this Powecom KN95 till we have 3M, SAS, Honeywell, Kimberly Clark supply.
Suggestion: anyone can do these tests yourself:
waterproof testing the outer non-woven layer,
candle-blow test for leakage,
burning of the melt-blown/ static testing the polypropylene layer
and the laser pointer test if there are any hole for the polypropylene layer.

The brand is BYD, a major car manufacturer in China.
As of today, BYD are still trying to meet the quality standard (whatever that is) for the state of California N95 order that worth hundreds of million of dollar. (the deal is not yet through)

i have collected different version of their products from diff period of time since Feb/ March inadvertently with the exception of recent export / English version.
other brands also has 4 layers instead of 5 layers and their filtration rate are above 98/99%.
But if Powecom changed their 5 layer design to 4, Im going to call it out as a precaution so everyone can judge for themselves.
Still, if it is from a legit source, I'd still buy it till 3m, Honeywell, SAS, Kimberly-Clark are available again.

I don't buy into those 5-ply marketing gimmick. My old and trustworthy 3M KN95 has only 3 layers, but you can see how crazily thick the middle meltblow it has:

Again, if nowadays we can freely buy 3M/Honeywell masks, even it's KN95 standard, we won't consider those imported KN95s.
