IT IS NOT scientific to test qualified KN95 masks by pouring water into them. The dripping test is just a rumor. Firstly, water will destroy the protection ability of the melt blown filtering layer, that means: Water will destroy the effectiveness of the face mask; Secondly, too much water has weight (universal force[Laugh]) , so too much water will drip. Also, : The first layer of nonwoven material can let O2 (= oxygen ) pass through the face mask. That is why, the 1st Layer of face mask cannot 100% block water, especially when there is too much (for example, a cup of Water , too much water !!) pour in the face mask. This is not a scientific test and should not be used. Any mask will stop the exhalation of droplets. But ear loop styles are not as secure as head band styles in preventing inhalation.

I'm curious about how the regular cloth masks or any masks work. It has been shown that they can block the Exhalation droplets from spreading and protect others. But if the droplets carrying the virus in the air are roughly the same size then why can the same cloth mask that blocks exhalation droplets not block incoming droplets if the cloth material is the same inside & out? Does it just have to do with limiting the distance the Exhalation droplets travel that reduces the risk of others getting infected as opposed to actual Exhalation filtering? If so, I'm still confused as to how it limits the distance if the droplets go right through upon Exhalation (do they?). It seems the inhalation droplets carrying the virus would go right through a regular mask without any filtering material. Thanks to anyone that responds.

The earlier info about big droplets shooting straight at you being the only carrier is not accurate. As time goes on, the medical community is learning more.
