This is a 4k IPS monitor. They will run at 60hz. This is a 4k gaming monitor. Unless you got the best graphics card out, you will struggle to get past 60 FPS on a 4k gaming monitor.

Would I game on it? NO.

Yet, I spent $700 for the Acer Predator for my gaming and computer needs. Again, that is $700 I spent compared to $300 for this 4k monitor.

Wouldn't this be good for console gaming tho, what with most games having caps @ 30/60 FPS ayway?

For the people that are complaining about 60hz...i havent really seen gaming monitors that are 4k with 144hz. Your specs would need to be insane to even get that if you could.

People who are bringing up the 60 hz have good reasons to do so.

If you do any type of "competitive gaming" then this is not a great choice for the price. 4k monitors may be better for more cinematic type games, but nothing fast paced considering the frame rate.

Just my humble opinion, but if looking for a well balanced gaming monitor, look for 2k instead of 4k, with 120/144hz or higher. Still visually attractive, but doesn't hinder your ability on more competitive type games.

Also, some future proofing if considering upgrading pc, or getting next gen console.

Any one know of a video review of this unit? How does the text look on this monitor when connected to mac? I am thinking of getting this for the office work, and given I will be looking at the text all day long, wanted to check how this monitor fares against the Mac native Retina Display.

I use a Surface Book 2 which has a higher PPI than the Macbook Pro, and have found the display to be very crisp. I find the color reproduction better on my Surface Book though, that's not to say the monitor is poor by any measure.

I do not play PC games because there will be too much investment on a good gaming PC. But I need a monitor for my upcoming PS5 which can play 4K UHD Blu Ray movies. Here I have a question for you gaming experts. Should I get a 4K 60hz monitor or FHD with 144hz?

I agree with everything you said. This is great for those types of games and for productivity like editing (not sure what the SRGB/NTSC Is on this tho).

For competitive gaming, look somewhere else.
