Thats not correct, there are some 7 series models that are IPS panel. Recent costco booklet mentioned that its IPS panel (picture attached). Rting mentions these 7 series 4K IPS panel tv as one of best for computer monitor.

Just called our local Costco. They provided the part # as 55UN7300AUD. Also, they said they will be receiving a shipment so it should be the same price in store as online.

I'd buy one for the game room. It's good enough to watch sports on and not expensive enough that I'd be upset if a pool ball hits it.
