The price varies based on store, so like most Lowe's deals, this is YMMV.

you bought a 5 blade crimper for HVAC work and don't have a use/idea what you're going to be using for..? it ain't a cutter, Lowe's website name is misleading, it's literally made for joining pieces of sheet metal piping together. the smaller one is for cutting V notches in sheet metal.

neither of which will ever be used by a general homeowner Wink
I ordered the crimper as well... I am thinking it will work for downspouts on gutter that I need to do some of this summer.

Lowe's is terrible in fulfilling orders. 80% of my orders were cancelled, even those not on clearance get messed up.

When I do get a "your order is ready for pickup" email, after arriving at the store and waited in line, they will then send someone to pull the order from the shelves or warehouse. Isn't ready for pickup supposed to mean it's already waiting in the pickup area and not "come on in so we can keep you waiting while we go look"?
You're definitely not alone in that experience with Lowe's. I pretty much gave up on picking up orders at Lowe's years ago.

More often than not I would go to the store after receiving the ready-for-pickup email only to discover my order was definitely not ready. Usually, the person at the customer service desk would act like they've never seen an online order before and call someone else over to help. Then they would check their inventory, tell me they have X number in stock, and go hunting for my item on the store shelves while I awkwardly stand at the customer service desk like a schmuck. Fifteen minutes or so later, they would come back empty handed and tell me they don't actually have it. I lost count of how many times I saw that scenario play out. It just isn't worth the hassle and frustration for the occasional order they get right.

No, I saw what it was used for - and I don't have a need for it right now, no doubt. But who knows ... I find unique, alternative uses for tools all the time, and at this price it makes some sense to throw in the "one day I'll need it" tool box. Come on, it's another tool, cheap! Can't resist!

People who aren't afflicted with tool hoarding will never understand. Smilie

After wishing I had one several years ago while doing gutter downspouts, I bought one the next time I saw one on sale. I haven't used it yet, but It's kind of like having an airbag in your car. Just because you don't know when or if you'll need it, doesn't make it not worth having.

The real problem is finding it when you actually need it... I know I have one or three of a certain tool, but where is it? This is the year to get organized... again.

I am going to be installing ALOT of metal ducting, can someone tell me why the notcher is better than just using a snip? Maybe Cleaner edges i assume? Thanks, really appreciate it
Speed of installation, consistency, accuracy...probably not the tool for the casual home owner but for a professional that is slinging ducts up everyday this tool would be a god send. With consistent and perfectly made notches, the sheet metal folding tool will work a lot better as well. This is something better understood with an illustration and hands on use but those are my two cents worth. I picked one up today - at this price I couldn't pass it up.
