A decent price on a decent evaporative cooler.
Make sure you understand that this is not an air-conditioner. In my dry CO weather this works nice, as I don't like that the room AC makes the air too dry. This unit makes the room cooler, with maintaining the humidity. The temperature will be lower by 5 to 10 degree F if used with following the direction.
But, this will definitely not make the room as cold as an AC. If your comfort temperature zone is below 75F, this will definitely not give you that if the outside is like 90F.
I have been on the lookout for one for some time, but haven't found a good brand one at this price point.

I would get a regular fan in addition to an AC in your case.
Maybe try air circulator, better than fan
An air cooler can work great if you had a means to frequently add ice to it, then it will put the coolness from the ice into the air during the evaporation process, however the unit will require more regulation to keep the temperatures where you want it.

No no no no no. If someone needs a constant supply of ice, it's probably going to come from their ice maker. The freezer makes ice by heating up the air around the freezer, usually in the living space. This means you would be creating a lot of work and wasted electricity for a net INCREASE in temperature and humidity. Just get a portable ac if you don't have room for a window ac.

Do not add ice if it comes from a refrigerator in the room you want to cool, unless you want to wait until night time to make more ice. Otherwise you will be adding net heat to the room since the fridge will pump out heat making more ice.
