I have this. I bought it from direct tools outlet for 79 or $89 I forget. I don't understand the ops point about this not working with the 4.0 batteries. You are able to use bigger size batteries in it because the battery compartment has a large area to put in both smaller and bigger batteries. I'm betting you could even use one of the nine amp ones

overall I've been pretty satisfied with it. However I did have to buy a coffee filter to replace the filter type that it came with because the one it came with allows finer dirt to easily escape. I actually ended up printing a 3D print of a mold that someone posted on thingiverse which expands the size of it that allowed the coffee filter to fit on it. so far working really well however this is much heavier than some of the other wireless vacuums so you have to keep that in mind

I think OP was referring to this pool vac not being an option to pair with the 4.0 battery + free tool deal running now.

Correct. Thought it might scan for free with the $99 battery purchase.

Basically a three-star rating, not sure worth the risk considering I get a lot of fine dirt in my pool. Doesn't sound like this would handle it very well without some modifications.

Right??

Vacuuming the pool used to be one of the WORST summer jobs. ugh. Hooking up to the pool filter, figuring out all the switches, etc, dealing with the ridiculously long hose, etc etc etc.

This seems SO DANG EASY. I'd take a slightly less good vaccuum job if it meant skipping the hassle.

i bought one and i am not pleased at all--the opening to draw in debris is just a litte bigger than a quarter, and the is not that much suction--on a regular pool vacuum you can see it drawing in debris from outside the vacuum head, on this you are lucky when it picks anything up when you place it right over the debris

Unfortunately I have to agree. I actually bought one for the same price from Direct Tools Outlet so mind you mine was certified pre owned, but the suction was absolutely horrible.

I love Ryobi tools I have everything from power tools to the garden lines and a mower. But this thing was extremely heavy, had little suction, and was a pain to deal with. I sent it back and stuck with the normal pool vacuum through the skimmer. This product didn't come close.

My sister does have a battery powered one that she is very happy with but it is not Ryobi. I only bought because I'm invested in the Ryobi line and have plenty of batteries, but I would say just stick with the normal vacuum.

And this does accept a 4ah. While some tools this does make a big difference, I didn't see much difference at all trying the 4ah with it.

I also have this. Bought last year to use on one of this 15' self inflating kids pools. Worked great. I know use it on my hot tub and occasionally in our above ground pool.
