I've been in the market for a NOCO GB150 4000A jump starter for a while. The best lightning deal price I've seen is $199, although CCC shows Dec last year it was down to 173$. Unfortunately for the past few months it's been hovering at $299, with a short foray down to $239, so I'm growing impatient, and found the Gooloo 4000A jump starter at $169 with a $20 clippable coupon. This is about the same price as the noco 1500A unit, and should have a lot more starting power so felt like a good deal. This is the lowest price on CCC (although it doesn't seem to track clippable coupons), reviews are good and fakespot is clean, so I figured I'd try it. If others find this useful, great. If not, flame away Smilie

As a bonus, you can also add the gooloo battery charger with a 20% clippable coupon, i think that might already be posted in another thread.

Noco are overpriced pieces of junk. After looking at a tear down video of a Noco jump starter, I will never buy one.

I own two Gooloo chargers, and have seen tear down videos of them. However, this price is still more than I would pay for this Gooloo.

After watching a video and you've already judged it a piece of junk? Ha haHa haHa ha

I've had my GB40 for 5 years and it is still working great! I mean the battery is still holding charge greatly and when I used it last winter on my friend's Camry 6L and boom it jumped up in 20 seconds.

By the way, I hate freaking racist!

If you were to see how badly these things are put together, I think you would agree as well.

A lot of people felt t the same way about the harbor freight jack stands, they used them for years with no problems, but that doesnt change the fact that based on their design and build they were death traps waiting to happen.

And what does race have anything to do with this? Why even bring that up?

The price point of harbor freight with questionable quality deems it worth a try just like gooloo. I own a gooloo jump starter, battery charger and they both have worked well for the brand and price point. I would not buy a NOCO just on price point alone.

I haven't seen the teardown..mind posting a link? I do know that the noco the cables are integrated into the unit which has been more reliable than my goloo with the "dongle" connector. Plus, I had a couple people try both...they all liked the noco as it seemed "intuitive" taking it out of the storage case and just working (again not trying to figure out a dongle and what all the status codes mean). Also, the noco are thicker cables and clamps.

Have a Gooloo that bought about 3 yrs ago and have probably used it about 3 times since. Yesterday my Daughters car was not used for over a month and needed a jump. Had to jump it once to start it and second to move it and had no problems. Third time was to show her how to use the jumper and move into drive way to replace the battery. I go and connect the cables with that dongle and have her hold the negative while am holding the positive and all of a sudden makes a loud popping noise with lite burnt smell that scared us both! Afterward the two green and red lights flash and make a buzzing beeping sound. Gooloo battery was fully charged and never came close to touching any metal with negative clamp. Now am actually afraid to try and use it again is might blowup in our face.

I've been scoping this one. Earlier this year it dropped into the $80-90 range. Hope BF will drop it down there again
