The .75-inch aluminum dome tweeter and dual 4.5-inch woofers with Ribbed Elliptical Surround deliver tight, distortion-free low-frequency response to make music, movies and games sound more exciting and lifelike. The black ash finish with high-gloss black baffle looks great with any new flat panel monitor. ~ persian_mafia
Probably referring to them being purchased by Klipsch and essentially trying to be phased out and or their quality now, vs 10 years ago. Energy and specifically the connoisseur line, at one time were a very powerful/reputable entry-level speaker.
"In 2011 the entire Klipsch company was sold to Audiovox. Given that companies history of watering down and destroying brands, the audio community isn't optimistic about the future of any of the Klipsch brands."
He's just angry because he paid more than this. Lol
Audiovox (now VOXX International) is one of those "bigger than you think" companies.

I still got those speakers. I've upgraded since, but I still use the Connoisseur on another room while the rear bookshelves have become the main bedroom speakers for my Logitech Z-5500 set.

I had no idea Audiovox purchased Klipsch... I also had no idea Audiovox still existed.
Not so proud owner of this center channel. Don't believe you can beat it at this price, but I got the RC series for L/R on clearance before and this was quickly over shadowed by them.
Running the entire RC series right now in my living room. Audiophile quality stuff. It is a shame what Klipsch has done to this once glorious brand of high end equipment.
It should be criminal what these big box companies do to make a buck, or should I say a bundle. They make a few quality lines then once its established bankroll the name as far as humanly possible until they have to file for bankruptcy then liquidate what's left to the suckers who aren't yet in the know. Then if something breaks try to get the "guaranteed warranty" for a replacement, this is the part where they tell you to sit and spin. Capitalism at its worst.
