I know we're all waiting for those 14TB drives to hit $200 again like they did back in December... but until then, here's the best deal on a 16TB to date! 16TB is just about the largest size consumer drive you can find and I believe this just came out too.
For the last several hours/days, the status of this drive has been "In stock July 1st", but I just checked and it's fully in stock now

The boring description:
Preformatted for systems running Windows 7 and later, the 16TB Expansion Desktop External Hard Drive from Seagate is automatically recognized by Windows, requires no additional software to install, and nothing to configure. Files such as photos, videos, music, and documents can be easily transferred to this drive via drag-and-drop, and fast data transfers are ensured using micro-USB 3.0 connectivity, which is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1. This external hard drive features a 16TB storage capacity, is also compatible with USB 2.0, and includes a 4' USB 3.0 cable and a power adapter.
Also to save some of you time so you don't have to scroll for answers:
1. Is this shuckable?
Yes! If you don't know, shuckable just means taking the hard drive out of the external case. Here's a video if it helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RQv9raiPQg
2. Will shucking void the warranty?
It shouldn't! Dont' take my word and do your own research, but from what I've read many times it doesn't void warranty. Here's an article on it: https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2018/04/11/601582169/warranty-void-if-removed-as-it-turns-out-feds-say-those-warnings-are-illegal [npr.org]
3. How much of the 16TB do I actually get?
14.9TB will be available. I know, sucks but that's the nature of hard drives. For future reference, here's a HDD calculator: http://www.endmemo.com/data/diskcapacity.php
4. Will this work with Mac?
Yes! You'll probably need to reformat it. Super easy, here's Apple's article on doing it (disk utility): https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208496
5. Will this work with X/Y/Z (Xbox, SmartTV, etc)?
Most likely, sometimes you gotta re-format it and/or put the files in certain folders. Otherwise some devices cap out at certain sizes (8TB, 10TB, etc)... but it's rare.
6. omg LOL how much porn can this fit #ilovetiktok?
A lot! But it'll probably only fit a quarter of what's out there of your mom.
7. Seagate/Western Digital/Blahblah company sucks, don't buy!
it's always the same story, different year. Every manufacture has had hiccups, luckily the chance of a drive failing is slim. I've only had 1 or 2 fail out of the 100+ I've purchased.
Hopefully I saved a few pages of comments, and hope this deal stays live for everyone to take!
EDIT: Also want to add a #8 to my list above...
8. This deal is only $/GB, you can get a smaller drive for cheaper, etc?
Generally speaking, the highest size drives available should be excluded from this "$/GB" equation, simply because you will always
pay a premium for the biggest available drive... They will never be cheaper than other drives, it's been like this for 20 years. Back when the 8TB was the max size drive, it had a horrible $/GB... once 10TB came out 8TB became cheaper. Just like how the 14TB is still so expensive, I'm sure 14TB will get cheaper then it's typical $280 price now (and I'm guessing we'll see more $200 deals).
