Just to be clear, a majority of surge protectors won't actually protect anything either.

Nearly all have horrible clamping and j ratings that result in no actual protection.

The only real protection vs majority of surges is a whole home set up.

And nothing will protect you from a lightning direct strike if you don't have proper grounding set up for your home.

Surge protectors are one of the longest running "bs" devices around....

I disagree although you typically get what you pay for. I've had power strips with so called protectors trip and while I'll never know if it truly protected the plugged in devices, I always used that as a sign to consider moving what's plugged in to other outlets. I also had one protector burn out and truly believe it received a huge surge. I had little protected then but until I moved, I kept it as a reminder.

I have this lamp. While I like it overall, the base doesn't have enough weight to support a greater tilt/incline of the arm and joint. It will fall over.
