Each shelf has a weight capacity of 800 lbs. when the weight is evenly distributed. The shelves are supported by double-riveted beams and braces for strength and adjust in 1-1/2" increments to accommodate items of varying heights. The posts on this shelving unit have a two-piece design so it can be assembled vertically to create one 60 x 36 x 18 inch (H x W x D) unit, or assembled horizontally to create two 30 x 36 x 18 inch (H x W x D) units with two shelves.

i have these and there is no way it will hold 800 lbs. The wood part of the shelves is very thin and only supported at the edges. So the middle of the shelf will easily sag way before you get near the rated weight.

The shelves are proprietary for this company so I am not aware of any sellers that have ones that will fit the rails used by this company.

personally i would not buy these shelves again in the future.
The shelves are MDF, they absolutely will sag, especially if they are in a damp/humid environment like an unconditioned garage or basement. Only way it would practically hold near that weight would be if your load spanned the metal rails such that the MDF wasn't bearing the load. Of course, you can always cut your own ply to replace the MDF.

Lowe's tends to roll out their pricing across the different timezones. It went live at 12am EST for me. Should be live for all now. I just checked a Los Angeles zip and see the $39.98 price.

Two questions ---
1) These say 800lb shelf strength. Has anyone had any experience with this? I am looking for something to put ammo on and while not near 800lbs, I want to see if any had any bad experiences.

2) Does anyone know where I can buy more shelves? I think I could add an extra shelf or two for what I am wanting.

Thanks

Can you comment to the effectiveness of the shelves over time? Have they started to warp or break down in any way?

The dimensions are what I'm looking for to use as basement storage, I was considering MuscleRacks (seen on sale for $39 for similar specs)

we have only had them a few months so I can not comment on the long term effects. we use them for lightweight storage only but i would suspect any significant weight will cause sagging. i would be adverse to something with similar specs and go for something a bit more heavy duty than this.

I think their claim of 800lbs is marketing at its finest. At best they may be indicating that a combined weight of 800lbs is possible if you add up the support of all of the shelves, not 800lbs per shelf. And it doesn't say it can hold that much without sagging, just that that is the max weight.
