Out of curiosity, why do you feel this way? Aren't dri-fit type shirts made of polyester? Are you just looking for cotton shirts?

Some people will ONLY wear cotton. It is a personal preference, however, some become rather snobby in their attitudes about it. Not saying this person was, but I have noticed it before.

That is the point of these. I sweat a lot too and (while playing basketball) cotton just becomes saturated and heavy, it sticks to my skin. It's like someone just poured a bucket of water on me. the "good" wicking material (the best I have used being Nike Dri-Fit) keep me moving freely and while still damp, I am not wet and feeling like I need to change my shirt. I don't however wear these shirts as a casual wear around. If I do, i tend to start smelling bad by mid day (they don't breathe well). They transfer moisture well, not air.

That's the opposite on what you should do. Work out clothes are polyester for a reason, quick drying and light weight. If you sweat a lot you should wear polyester.
