I'm no tool expert but right away i see the diff. is the rip capacity, the HD one -
20 in. of rip easily cuts a variety of larger shelving and trim materials
Rip fence with 12 in. left and 16 in. right rip capacity for ripping wider materials

The DWE7491 -
32-1/2" rip capacity easily cuts a variety of larger shelving and trim materials

I'm sure if you go tot he spec section and compare side by side you will find more diff.

I have yet to understand this, I see tons of people buy these stands for DYI types. If your a non-prof. why not just make your own and save the cost.

I'm new to table saws, just started researching for a few DIY projects... Along with the rip capacity I understand the DWE7491 can use a dado blade where the DWE745 cannot.

Hmm.. should I nab this or grab the rigid /w stand [homedepot.com]?

I see there is the 8 1/4" dewalt also with stand for 299$... trying to determine best band for my buck. hobbyist and will most likely never move it once it is in my garage.

I would buy the 745 (10") but wait for a sale of around $200-220. Sometimes they bundle the stand with it for a little more which makes it a better deal. Unless they changed the design, you can rip 24" on the 745 by buying 2 additional locating pins and nuts for a couple dollars each. I paid less than $10 total delivered. It takes just a few minutes to install and calibrate the width. If you don't want to buy additional pins, you can slide the pins that comes with the 745 down the rail whenever you need to cut > than 20". Of course you need to calibrate the width whenever you move it and again when you move it back. The more expensive version does have a higher RPM but at the expenses of torque. They both have 15 Amp motors. Just marketing gimmick in my opinion. You cant use dado blades on the 745 though because the spindle is too short.

yesterday's back in stock ridgid 10" for $279 then Hercules and now finally dewalt 10" table saw, tells me that, we will have more inventory and better sale for 4th of July. Staying put for now..

I am holding out on a 7480 which seems to be discontinued but it has the 24" rip capacity. A local store has 1 left but it's $399, really hoping they will drop it to $299. I rather have a 10" over the newer 8 1/4"

There picture shows two black locating pins exactly 4" apart on the aluminum rail. The pin on the left came with the saw. I added the pin on the right. Picture only shows the front side but there are identical pins in the rear. You need a pair of pins and a pair of nuts (sku SBD 5140032-03 and SBD 5140032-02).

Thank you! Ordered the extra set of pins. I'll be cancelling my rigid order now. Was able to get an additional 15% off this DeWalt before it went back out of stock.
