Grandfathered Simple Choice 10gb Business (3 lines + 1 free) customer. Also have 2 free tablet lines from previous promos. Was able to get free line but had a few extra steps as a business customer.

- Messaged through T-Mobile app first this morning and was told I qualified, but had to call in to add because mine was a business account.
- Called business number and was told I needed a SIM card, so they ordered one for me, but was told I couldn't activate the free line until the cards arrived. Told me to go to store to buy a SIM card to activate if I wanted the promo today.
- Visited store and employee verified that my account was eligible and promo stacked with current phone promos for adding lines. Picked up an iPhone SE and was told I would be charged $20/mo for the new line and $16/mo for the phone, but would be getting back $20/mo and $8/mo in bill credits.

Phone rep had credited my account for $25 to cover the cost of the SIM card in store.

Also, some people may be confused with the verbatim the phone reps are using. At first I was told the promo was to add a line, and get a line for free, so I thought she meant getting 2 lines for the price of 1. Then she worded it as if I would be adding a new paid line, but one of my existing lines would be free. She assured me that I would be adding a line and my bill wouldn't change.

Wow.....The promo discount already applied to my account:
Applied discounts and promotions:
$20 2020 Line On Us (Additional Lines)

and I got a text:

0T-Mobile message: Congrats! You will receive your promotional service discount as long as you maintain eligibility.
I did not get the text yet but in my account line shows up as 0.00. I did not buy a line to get the free line but did get the iPhone se with it. All charges including sim were waived.

hookup is on your account, not your plan.

So I got the One plan with Hookup so I'm paying $80/month for 2 lines. Will adding the 3rd line free damage my current hookup discount or anything?
Quote from Traxxremixpool :
I just asked the same question lol. I'm it sure if we would qualify, but in the past they always told me I could only have up to 3 lines on my current plan.
I think I'm on the same plan, but I already have the 3rd FREE line from 2 years or more years ago. I don't think I've been told about the 3 line max, but I think I remember asking about adding another line to my account and it was going to be a high cost because I think they would switch me to another plan. I'm assuming there is a 3 line max on my plan "TMO ONE All In Promo".

I don't really need the FREE line so if I have to change my plan I won't even bother contacting them.

Got it through Facebook Messenger. Through T-Mobile app, rep said even though I'm on SC plan, it is a promo plan so not eligible. On Twitter, T-Force said the same thing. On FB, rep said it qualifies and can be added. So rep added the free line, however, can't waive the $30 sim card fee.

Any way to get that waived through chat or t-force?
Yes. I was able to get it waived. Speak with another rep.

the rep is currently processing the order and adding the line to my account.

for reference: i have tmobile one. ported in a number to get a free line. so now i have 2 paid lines and 2 free lines.

I just added a free line through T-mobile chat with no problems and no changes to payments on my account. They ALSO allowed the free line promo to be COMBINED with phone promos, so I picked up a ONEPLUS 8 5G for $350 along with it!

Ditto. After looking at everything, the "best" deal I can get is switching to ESSENTIALS @ $90+tax/month for 3 lines. But switching out of TMO ONE plan means I lose the following as well:

(1) have to pay taxes (TMO one is included)
(2) no more international data 2G in 210 destinations
(3) no more 4g LTE in mexico/canada
(4) no more gogo-in-flight wifi

I called in with the exact same plan and got denied too. Not worth upgrading to Magenta or Essentials.

One thing I'm confused on is that. Isn't the hookup linked to the account and not the plan?

I have a T-Force message on Twitter, Facebook, and a chat open on the T-Mobile web page. The chat responded first and said it's add a line to get a free line. I tried educating him (Marshall) but it wasn't going anywhere. In the middle of that chat, T-Force finally messaged me back on Twitter and was able to confirm the free line. I'm still waiting for them to reply again to actually add my free line but here's what they said:

"Looking at your rate plan, you'd be eligible to take advantage of this offer. Existing customers that have at least 2 paid lines definitely can add a new voice line for free with our Line on Us promotion that just launched today. I hope that this helps to clarify a bit more!"

I updated my original post in case anyone has questions. Hopefully some one can bump my posts (mark as helpful) so the same questions aren't asked and answered. Thanks!

Nope, you can only have 1 free line promotion. I just called. I am paying for 2 lines with 1 free, I was told to upgrade to Magenta pay for 3 and get 1 free w/ Netflix. Also since I am adding a line, this qualifies for the BOGO on Samsung Galaxy Phones.
