I was just at my local Walmart (Northern Virginia area) and picked up a Blackweb 11.4" portable bluray/dvd player on clearance for $40. originally $157. they had 4 of them. It says its 720P resolution and plays all the standard dvd, bluray and cd formats. it also has an sd card slot and an hdmi output. came with a nice little remote as well as a car charger. I believe they are clearing out all of their "blackweb" stuff as it's being replaced with their "ONN" brand. this looks like its B&M only. YMMV. heres the link to the item, but it's not $40 online.

This one of those items want to rush out the door to get it, but your senses comes in before you leave asking why the hell would I need this or even use it since I have no BR discs.

This is more like a portable media player, with a screen. Wonder if the battery is replaceable and the screen could be turned off when HDMI is connected. Wish someone hacked it with keyboard and use it as a computer or console...

not all blu-ray players can play all blu rays


newer blu ray disks need software updates via the internet,


thats why there is a ethernet port to download software updates to be able to read newer blu ray disks

You can also play DVDs or Music CDs not just Blurays as it is backward compatible... Smilie

I came across this deal about a month ago locally in Iowa. I passed on the $40 price just because if I'm going to travel, I'm going to either use my laptop and Youtube or my phone. It's like one of those things that's a fun thought 10 years ago, but tech has just gotten too convenient for this to be efficient.
