This is a similar deal to one posted a few weeks ago but IMO beats the current Apple deal (esp if you don't need the air pods) on the $200 off models (posting the $100 off ones for people to see all models are on sale)

The one you are referencing is 8gb ram and $1399 on sale at BB.
The one that is $200 off is the more expensive version - it is $1699 at Apple for education (if you have that discount) or $1799 regular

Does anybody know if its possible to change payment type when you pick it up in the store?
My dilemma is I have a lot of BestBuy Gift Cards $100 each. You are only allowed to use 10 online, but 15 in store. Is there a way around this so I can use 15?

I would say buy something for like 3-500 and then return this way you have less gift cards.

Or maybe just buy more gift cards? You could probably do it online even.

They don't allow you to purchase gift cards with gift cards.

200 off is still not enough of a slick deal for me to pull the trigger knowing now that ARM macbooks are coming end of the year

But at least with these, you can still run Bootcamp and Windows. There was no mention of virtualization for Windows on ARM based Macs.

I don't like being the guinea pig tester on anything new so I wouldn't want to get the ARM for at least 1-2 years - make sure they get all the bugs out. That's me though.

Agree with the other posters that you shouldn't buy an ARM based MacBooks when they first come out. Would also add that your favorite MacOS software might require you to re-buy them to cover the software makers' transition cost.

The ARM MacBooks that will be released first are the lower tier models, like the air. It'll be at least another year or two before the whole line up, including 16 MBP will have the new chipset.

One thing to consider is that the Apple education discount also discounts AppleCare+. For the particular configuration I wanted (10th gen, 16gb, 1tb, AppleCare), the AppleCare was discounted $54. So while the Apple.com total cost was ultimately $45 more, it did include AirPods. Might be worth the extra money if you want them to use, flip, or gift.
