I was looking for a good M.2 and tried older dealers and found that this deal appears to be back again: https://slickdeals.net/f/14127380-1tb-wd-black-sn750-nvme-m-2-internal-solid-state-drive-121-50-free-shipping

This seems like a very good price for the WD Black. You will need to login to see the $121.49 price. (discount shows in cart once logged in)

I had just bought this and was coming to post. I can confirm it works.

Suggest you all consider rak- CB program for another 5% off.

edit: I tried furiously to use another emailed 10% code and also the 15% student edu code, even with my multiple wd.com accounts and from within incognito and they didn't play nicely this time. Occasionally one can get them to stack (I have), but not this time. Still, the CB brings it down $6 to about $115. Hope this helps.

Wish this was posted before the 500GB one yesterday. Oh well got plenty of SATA SSDs to use for storage anyways.

No heatsink if that matters to anyone. Anybody know of a reliable way to backup from one stick to another? My laptop only had 1 bay. Thanks

Get an external NVMe enclosure, ones with good ratings are around $30.

I'm surprised this didn't get excitement here. SD seems more finiicky and in denial about the covids, wanting pre-covid deals, and this price is a great price. Reddit's r/buildapcsales is all over this, and they are active on finding restocks that come and go in a few minutes, and often identify deals before SDers do. I don't expect we will get back down to $110, which we recently saw, for a little while. Though technically, you can try ret-menot CB for 10-15% CB through Newegg and get it down to about $110.

Well, you got reps from me, OP. Thank you for sharing to the community.

It looks like the Auto-10% off in cart seems to be gone now. Can anyone else confirm?
  • edit: no, I still see this price if I go to a different account than the one I already ordered from

I just moved from a comparatively slow external SSD (read speeds below 400 MB/s) to a Thunderbolt NVME enclosure (1000 MB/s write, 1600 MB/s read) for my Steam library yesterday. Loading times are noticeably better, but the difference is far less than from HDD to SSD. 4x read speed means a few seconds here and there so far.

I recommend getting an aftermarket heatsink for this. I got the no heatsink version in a desktop and it idles around 50C and goes up to 60-70C before it thermal throttles. It won't make a big difference in performance but there are studies done that SSD wears out faster when it's above 40C. I plan to keep this drive for years so anything to give it more life I'll take it.
