Does anyone have experience with these bits? I am a DIY'er and wouldnt be using these tools everyday.

These are not covered by a lifetime guarantee. They're considered disposable parts. The only kind of way to take it back is if you say it's garbage and take it back to the store with your receipt.
That being said, you probably won't run out of bits. I still have a similar Black and Decker kit I gave to my little brother I got back in 2006 as a gift. Most of them got rusty being used all the time for work and not taken care of. The drill bits can break fairly easily, so don't try drilling through heavy steel and expect them to last and not break. I've used nicer tools recently and bought a DeWalt set for my impact. They're stronger and not as many, only 40 pieces, but they'll last longer. I have a separate drill bit set I paid $10 for with more bits. I'm happy to have the nicer sets separately, but this is great for a beginner and has more tools than most beginners need. Plenty to break, throw away and lose over time.
I bought this for my brother's birthday next month, I got him a Black and Decker drill kit with saws and a light. He doesn't need anything fancy yet. Some things you get cheap so you can appreciate good tools later.
Get it. If you don't like it, you're out $20. Always good for a backup set. I've wasted more than that on tools. I have so many random bits and other sets sitting around. I bought a magnetic impact bit holder for $10, and the DeWalt kit I bought for $20 has one, and 37 more pieces. They didn't have the kit I bought at the time. I still have the receipt and I'll take it back.
