The Dell E2318HR has mixed reviews on Amazon. Price is good from Staples, but I am just not a fan of Dell products.

Like most tech stuff you are going to get different levels of products. I have seen crap monitors from dell and I have seen some that are amazing. The price follows that too though.

I didn't like the monitor at all. I actually returned mine and bought the HP V240a from amazon for slight more. I was looking for more features such as speakers, adjustable height, and the slim bezel look. Color and brightness-wise, the HP beats it slightly especially on the brightness side.

For the price at $75, guess it's a good enough for a budget monitor

In for 1 to test my luck. Amazon bad reviews are mostly for different model (24inch) and as long as I can get non defective one and it doesn't have power cycle issue it should be good. Let's see how it goes.

I can confirm that the viewing angle is actually 178/178 degrees for Vertical/Horizontal, respectively

It takes a soundbar? So apparently has some kind of audio built in but no speakers and no audio out unless you get correct "sound bar" from dell?

There were no built in speakers, but I'm sure you can get a sound bar (I'm not sure if there are mounting provisions on it, at least I didn't see one)

I have this monitor and for home office I was very happy with it. I did find the sound bar separately later. Slides into slots on bottom of monitor. USB powered and configured. Pretty nice for what it is. Not a crazy gaming setup but nice for the price.
