Acronis is a perpetual license to that version.
e.g. you continue to get updates to 2020 as long as they supply them, but the software works forever and can be transferred to another machine

I went ahead and purchased the download version and installed just now. When you sign into your acronis account online, it shows the license and says it is perpetual and the same serial can be used to install on 5 devices. So the review was for either a different product/version or just wrong.
I have tried to install these later versions of True Image, and it will simply NOT install on my system. True Image used to be a pretty great product, now UNLESS you upgrade almost yearly, it does not install. I have the latest Win updates and used to be a Sys Analyst, and sure tech changes, but I tried the basic methods to get it on the system, and NO DICE!!
Maybe I got it wrong, and something off, perhaps someone can help...But I used to run this and it was great up until Windows 7 maybe evern early 10
If you're just doing an image, Macrium Reflect (free) has worked for me twice. I do two images on "backup day," one using the built-in Windows image utility (which is labeled as a Windows 7 utility) and another using Macrium Reflect. Macrium Reflect saved the day for me both times because neither Windows image would restore.

the funny thing is both macrium and acronis need microsoft backup imaging, but being typical MS im not surprised it doesn't work properly :

I can tell you from experience that this software works perfectly. I've used it several times by hooking an ssd up through usb and cloning the c hard disk then swapping.
I bought this last time it was posted. It works good. I have it loaded on my IMac desktop and Microsoft laptops and the back up to my portable external hard drive without issues. I also downloaded the app on my iPad's and iPhones. Everything backs up good. 5 license IMO is a good deal for me. I hate spending money for cloud backups, so this was a perfect fit for my phones and iPads. I am not a tech person so I wish the directions would be better but I figured them out.
The deal worked great. Clicked the link, added to the cart, made a payment and done. The price was right too. I have been waiting for a deal like this. 5 PCs, full package, not an update or upgrade. Hats off to the poster.

None that I can see. I have been using Macrium Reflect for taking backup images for quite some time. Works great.
