First one connects to old-style USB port (rectangular opening) while the second one connects to USB Type-C port (slightly oval-ish) in addition to the old one - that's why the name 'dual'.

OP appears to have removed this one, that I think is worth $3 more.

I've had one of these (64gb, I think) on my keychain for a couple of years and it's worked great for the rare occasion I've had to transfer the vital few folders I store on it. Note that it's more of a failsafe for me than actual data transfer, but it's been hella handy.

I'm thinking I might upgrade to this as one of these:+ ninite and I can set up any new laptop or tablet.

The Ultra Fit version from a couple generations ago was VERY flimsy. A lot of people reported part of the casing failed.

Also I had two of them and both failed after 12-18 months.

Hope this generation design is better.

The first one is smaller and has a forward and back mechanism, while the other one has a swivel.

I agree. MicroUSB is not useful for me, but USB-C is. $3 is worth haveing a second connection that I can use.

I thought the iPhone/iPad expansion USB was going to be great to use, but you have to use it with an app, and then you have limited options on how to import them into Windows (viewing images). I like how Android doesn't try to handcuff you with such restraints, although that's what makes Android more susceptible to hacking.
