The Staples 23" Dell monitor is $25 cheaper and is IPS. Also has VESA mount. This is a TN panel.

This is not one of the better deals at the moment IMO. It would be an okay monitor for the basics but it's not any better than a monitor I got almost 10 years ago for the same price.

This deal is trash, both in terms of price and hardware. Plenty of better monitors going for this price.

I have two of these monitors, and they're perfectly fine. I bought them from Best Buy for $75 each over 3 years ago, and they're still going strong. I haven't had any issues with them. The VESA mount is helpful as I put them on a desk mount. At the end of the day, they get the job done if you're just looking for something cheap to use alongside a laptop. I've used it for light computer use and occasionally for photoshop/illustrator. I haven't played games or edited any video using them.

In line with what everyone has been saying, it's an okay monitor for the basics, but there are probably better deals out there right now. I didn't mind paying $75 at the time, but I would probably rethink purchasing it at this price.

The $75 Dell at Staples is dead. Staples does a horrible job of packing items. The box received was destroyed and the item inside was damaged.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion, but you really can't compare the Acer model to a Dell. The Dell unit over at Staples has horrendous reviews, a lot of people state the unit dies in 6 months, not a good thing. I have had Dell desktops and laptops in the past and they were complete junk, if there monitor is anything like there pc division, I can see why it's so cheap.
It has 4.5/5 rating on Staples.com. On Amazon when you filter for that specific model, it has high reviews. The Amazon page lumps some other Dell monitors with power issue on the reviews for this monitor.

Personally, I've had the monitor for two years now. Almost on the whole day and haven't had any problems.

Dell makes great monitors so I don't know what universe you're from if Acer has the better reputation. Until Acer releases something like the Ultrasharp line and has widespread usage among professionals and companies who need high quality monitors, I'll give Dell the advantage when it comes to monitor development. Not that it really matters when you're talking about sub $200 monitor. At my old work they had top of the line equipment and they used Dell Ultrasharps that cost a few hundred dollars not some TN panel Acer.

Anyway, I would never buy a TN panel for more than a better quality IPS monitor. Reading text on TN panels is not pleasant, especially after experiencing what IPS offers.

I've had a few Acer monitors in the past. Overall they have served me well and lasted for years before I sold them or gave them away.
Yes, the IPS display looks better than a TN panel in general.
Reasons you might prefer the Acer:
•Audio pass through.
•Slightly larger display
•DVI port

Edit:
This Acer model pops up on a lot of sites and the listed ports selection changes from site to site. Even this deal when you look at the images they show 2 different models.

Amateur hour over at Office Depot.

Imagine getting downvoted for telling people on SD to use SD.

Telling people to search for a deal when the deal has expired it's pretty dumb.
