Here come the complaints about how this $150 brand new, relatively large monitor from a known brand...and 240hz isn't 4K or OLED....

Oh, and something about "nits" Wink

Edit: unless of course anyone can provide a link to a brand new and similar spec'd 16:9 monitor for $150-ish but at 1440p or higher. But we all know that won't happen....

If it was 1440P I would probably pull the trigger 31in screen starts looking a little rough at 1080P that close.

If it was 1440p it wouldn't be $150 and / or 240hz (my original point). Also 1080p has advantages if you are trying to maximize frame rates, especially for online gaming (which this seems to be targeted towards with the branding and high refresh rate) which is more about performance than chasing the highest resolution available to you.

Not great for every use case but rarely anything is perfect for every user all the time.

What they're saying is 31.5" at standard desk viewing distances looks ROUGH. It's not about refresh rates but about pixel density and retina distance. 24" high refresh 1080p is great for competitive games; 31.5" not so much.

Feel free to reply back with whatever, you can have the last word if you need it. Unless it is a link to brand new and similar spec'd 16:9 monitor for $150 but at 1440p or higher, it won't mean much. Especially for someone wanting a 1080p native display.

AH damn I didn't realize it wasn't 2k, I got a refurbed one for around this price. It has problems with black light bleed or whatever but it's better than what I previously had. I came to love the curved screen. The price for this is really good to be honest. But after having the 2k, I don't think I can go back to 1080p. Most modern slop bloated games can't even reach the 240+hz anyways, let alone in barely hit 60fsp in 4k.

Not to mention, some people claim to be able to tell the difference for anything slower than 240hz so they'll sacrifice visual quality for frame rate. I personally can't see that difference in speed but there just as many people who case high frame rates vs "ultra" settings at 2K.
