you shouldn't need one, the water tank has an air bladder in it that gets pressurized as it fills up, once u open the tap it comes out depending on the pressure. you may need to add air occasionally to the tank, u can use a standard bike pump.

The pump reduces tds and reduces the waste water, and makes the ro membrane last longer. It's positioned before the membrane and doesn't influence output pressure.
Correct. You want the pump. It's passive and only downside is a "clicking" noise as the tank fills. May annoy some but really helps efficiency if your water pressure isn't perfectly ideal for ro

BTW this was $129 a few weeks ago.
I think he/she meant the main line's "basic filtering" takes the load off the RO unit's sediment primaries, then has the secondary benefit of reducing sediment in showers that mess with mist orfices, and some dont have screens. I had to back-pressure wash the grit in my shower head.
