He means more like are you good with 30 FPS or do you need 60? Do you turn everything to ultra or are you ok with medium graphics settings. 4K gaming is very intensive though I would say you need at least a 2070/1080 equivalent to comfortably play AAA titles at decent graphics settings and frame rates. Even then for newer graphics intensive games you might have to turn some settings down.
how close is the 5700xt to 2070 level? seems like on userbenchmark it was around the same, but tough to judge just by that site.
Its not worth the extra $100 for the 5700xt to be only 20% faster. Probably won't notice the difference. This card will still last 4-5 years.
Both cards will last about 4 years easy. No doubt for 1080p high fps. But if you find a good deal on a 1440p 144hz monitor in the next year, buy it, and don't have a 5700xt (RTX 2070+) to drive it.. then you're gonna have a bad time
BIOS I believe. Lots of issues with the first revision I've read in the past 24 hours. I almost got the Staples first revision last night. They cancelled the order on me. I'm glad because I'd rather have the more stable one out of the box. But you can just update the BIOS in the first revision and it's the same as this.
Pretty much on par but some games perform closer to a 2070super. If you care about ray tracing, you already know what to get.
yeah, but I only know about ray tracing in that it was listed for current gen nvidia ones, but I know nothing about what it actually is or what it improves. Also are any 5700xt cards cool and quiet?

5700xt? as always, it depends on the maker of the card. Sapphire brand tends to do great lately on any card they make. Gigabyte 3 fan models also is great on their cards. Those are the best bang for buck models. For $20-40 more you get to the premium models, 3 fans will mostly run quieter and cooler. Besides sapphires, I wouldn't go 2 fan model on anything above 2060/5700 models. If you want a card to run cool, especially for higher tier cards, 3 fan models are better.
Ray tracing improves the visuals/graphics on a game. Like reflections on water and glasses are better, but at a cost of a bit lower fps. I'm not sure how the update has improved the fps or not when raytracing is on as I do not test these cards. Your best bet is to look at reviews on youtube.
How hard will this be to make it work with a EGPU with my MBP 2020 10th gen i5. I hear its a tough endeavor and really want something plug and play for mac and bootcamp (playing warzone).

They can run silent without the fans spinning. Depends on the cards, but most 3-fan setups can run quiet because they move more air at lower rpm; in general.
Off the top of my head; PowerColor, the MSI Gaming X, Saphire Nitro+ and any other 3-fan models I'm forgetting, have great performance at low decibel levels.
The other problem you have is that card-noise doesn't have to be loud to be annoying. I bought an MSI Rx580 that had a fan setup that wasn't loud, just at an piercing pitch.
On a side note: based on the questions you're asking, the 5700xt is probably over-kill. You probably can buy this card and call it a day.

there would probably be no point because various benchmarks seem to sow the 1070 ti as above this card and I already have a good 1070 ti. But as far as my questions, like I was saying, I am wanting to futureproof in case I do start gaming on the pc, so what I know now isn't relevant. I don't want to have to change parts out for a long time. I am currently using a crappy prebuilt and have managed to get like 7 years out of it. For my pc build I have bought top notch parts and I want to be a bit overkill where I don't get tempted to buy new parts.

Staples cancelled my double coupon order too Funny that Gigabytes website doesn't list a Rev 2

(RX 5700 are out of stock).
For older games it's fine but games like Call of Duty you can push 100fps average with a good CPU. Depends on you're monitor.
