.99 cents Sprint sim card from Amazon https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SWDX7BF
PRO TIP: Get the $39 "unlimited" plan for the first month since any plan, including the $39 plan, is only $4 for the first month. The "unlimited" plan has 25GB of LTE data. If you then change to a cheaper plan after the first month, as long as you manually renew your plan each month, you get to roll over and keep any of the unused data from your initial 25GB. The key to rolling over and keeping your data is to not let your monthly plan auto-renew on day 30. Manually renew on day 29 and get free rollover and keep all your unused data. You can check a box when you renew to send you an email reminder on day 28.
How to get free rollover with manual renewing is explained more at this Tello review [cranialborborygmus.com].
https://cranialborborygmus.com/te...review.htm
Other good information on the above review includes how to use paygo for voice minutes and then use a "data only" monthly plan to avoid paying any monthly taxes and government fees.
You will need a Sprint sim for your phone. Sprint uses different sim models for different phones. It is annoying but unlike other carriers, with Sprint you need to make sure you get the correct model number sim or it won't work. Use the Tello byod checker to see what Sprint sim model you need. If you get it from Tello, it is $10, but Amazon sells a "universal Sprint sim kit" for $.99
Amazon link for 99 sprint sim is at top of wiki, review and info on Sprint sim kit on cranial website here. [cranialborborygmus.com]
Tello uses Sprint for coverage. If you have good local Sprint coverage and a Sprint-compatible phone, Tello is a good cheap option.

doesn't work that way. You are not buying a SIM card (unless you really need one). You can't "activate later". If your old sprint phone already has a SIM you're good. You have 6 days to sign up for $4 first month. That's the deadline.

The non-sprint, unlocked Bring-Your-Own-Phone users will need a Sprint sim for LTE data and you can't activate the line without sim so if you are planning to buy reduced-priced sim card from eBay, make sure you can get and activate it before the deadline to take advantage of the discount. The line activation and signing up take like an hour or less with Tello if it is still the same as when I activated mine in 2018..

Good deal, even better with a certain cashback site and referral (10$ in Tello Dollars). I plan to use this on their unlimited data plan tomorrow.

This service is CDMA not GSM. Good deal if you have a compatable phone. I have used the service since Ringplus died. Combining deals like this and referral codes makes for very inexpensive service for those that talk very little like myself.

Gmail email trick works great if you have extra phone. Pay $4 now, get 20 Tello dollars later is tough to beat.

Be careful of their coverage map. They show full signal at my house - data and calls. So I tried them out. Closest signal reception was 4 miles away. YMMV of course....

When I was on Ringplus which also used Sprint, I had to stand by the window or go out on the porch to make calls. Tello was poor too but over the last couple years the service has gotten much better.
