Point of interest here: Engineer scales are typically used by civils with scales of 1:100 and so forth. Architects scales have the fractional scales 1/8"=1' which is much more widely used in buildings

Once you go metric... you won't go back. Was renovating our home, once I started using metric to measure it made it so much easier.
