I looked up the speeds and they are higher than most but I'm not so sure it's worth paying the extra premium as there are other 1TB drives (not as fast) around $100.

Max Sequential Write
Up to 4400 MBps

4KB Random Read
Up to 750,000 IOPS

4KB Random Write

Presently only X570 and B550 motherboards for AMD's Ryzen processors actually support these drives. They require PCI-E 4.0, which only exists on X570 and B550 for the time-being. Once PCI-E 4.0 becomes more widespread these drives will drop down in price closer to their PCI-E 3.0 cousins, such as the WD BLACK SN750.

If the extra 30 gets to 140 and isnt already counted this is about the lowest it has been. For $170 it isnt worth it as you will not notice the extra speed much in 99% of use. Also, there will be truly fast 4.0 drives coming out later. Thus isnt much faster than 3.0 drives except for pure burst speed. It doesnt justify the price unless all you do is transfer big files.

Having said that this is reportedly a quality drive and about the best you can get right now.

Isn't it the same price on Amazon after $30 coupon posted by someone?

FYI, If you don't have a motherboard with PCI-E gen 4.0 support (Currently only AMD B550 & X570) then you should probably just get this [newegg.com]

or some other SSD on the cheap.

Oh wow, I've been debating on getting this for months... today finally made the decision and I happen to open SlickDeals and see this deal!! Incredible. Thanks op!! Building a new pc this week/next week!!

Also this is pretty much the fastest SSD there is, Seagate makes a close 2nd (faster in some areas actually).

As others have said, most won't even notice a difference sadly. But I these (m2's) get so cheap and are so fast, I can't help but get it.

If you have a x570 motherboard with gen 4.0 support this is the fastest thing you can get. Five stars in my humble opinion. Fortunately the heat spreader from them is to tall to fit under my second m.2 slot or I would be in for another.

Never heard of this brand but this is almost 70% faster than the WD Black 1tb deal ($122) yesterday.

Anyone know if I can get an nvme to pcie 4x adapter to add another nvme drive to my computer? Will I get the full performance of the nvme drive?

As long as you have a pice x4 slot and four lanes to spare, you're good to go with an adapter.

But only a pcie 4.0 board can use this at *full* speed. That means AMD x570 or B550. Even with one of those, if using it in the m.2 slot on the board, check how many lanes and which type it gives it. If using a pcie slot with b550, chances are you'll only get pcie 3.0 unless it's the top slot.

Still, even with pcie 3.0, it'll be very, very fast. I bought one anticipating going to AMD later this year. It's 3000+ Mbps on my Intel board with pcie 3.0.

PCIE 4.0 will get you faster speeds in benchmark tests and big sequential copies. But most of the time, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Really appreciate the info!

Will one of these work and which one is better:

Hopefully will show up in the BIOS normally even with the adapter.

You can remove it and get an aftermarket Smilie

What heat spreader are you referring to? The $170 one seems to have the super thin sticker-only version. I know some companies manufacturing PCIe 4.0 M.2 drives do have a "gaming" model they sell with an upgraded larger heatsink.
