It's more like 5 days vs 3 days at the cost of 20lb. I'm not convinced it's not just better to use that weight for additional ice

I have the 45 qt and I love it. Holds Ice up to 6 to even 10 days if you keep it out of direct Sunlight. Also these are built like tanks and made in America. Go with a yeti but your just paying to have the brand name. These colors seem like they can last easily 20+ years. Highly recommend at this price point.

Yeah, I'm constantly considering nicer coolers but I usually don't have much room in the car and the nicer coolers are much bigger than mediocre coolers, for the same capacity, so so far I've decided to just use mediocre coolers and buy ice more frequently.
I've camped plenty of times in places where I can't buy more ice, but never for long enough that a mediocre cooler won't last if I freeze whatever food/drinks I can before leaving and/or take a larger cooler if I have room and add extra ice.

If it weren't for the increased size, I would've already bought a nicer one. The price could be worth it when they're durable and last forever.

Wonder why these are refurbished. Issue with the seal and not keeping cold?

The Lifetime brand is amazing. Wife and son bought me the 28 qt. for Father's Day and I love it. Easy To open and close since it has a different latch system than the other molded types. Keeps ice 5 days even when I'm opening it pretty often and it was sub $100.

I have the $97 55'er from Lifetime. It's awesome and made in the USA unlike most coolers, including some Yeti models. Keeps ice for a week, and it's not like gas stations aren't readily available with plenty of cheap ice.

A while ago there was an influx of OtterBox coolers on eBay with broken latches. I'm guessing that's the common refurb.

COVID-19 is still out there. I don't think garage sales are going to be booming, if at all unfortunately. Chicago suburbs at least I haven't seen one garage sale. Such a shame love me a good gsrsge sale!
