The screen on this is really bad. I had to return mine. Super dark and the glare was insane. Otherwise the machine is fine.
No is the answer to both of your questions.
It looked dark to me. Same sku. Checked before commenting.

Does this come with a pen? And is the pen stored inside the laptop?

This is a nice deal for $900. There's a little bit of thermal-related throttling as this gets into more heavy workloads (ie more intensive gaming), but it's still pretty good considering the screen and lack of other decent 2-in-1 Ryzens right now. See this review if you're thinking about it:

300 nits is super dark? You must have gotten a defective model or a different sku?

thanks for your input. i also have a laptop with 300 nit brightness, and if the screen is getting hit by direct sunlight, it's difficult to see. otherwise, it's bright enough in most indoor settings. 300 nits isn't considered low by laptop standards, though it's not the best either.

laptops in general can't compete with phone brightness - my phone's peak brightness is over 770 nits, for example.

Thank for your input and that has to be why it seemed so dark. Looking at an OLED screen phone brightness all day then switching to the laptop was rough. You're correct at night when I did some light gaming on it, it was fine.

Well considering 300 nits is pretty average among laptops, people still might want to consider this. I have a 250 nit screen currently and it's fine for me even in well-lit rooms (albeit maxed out). I think some XPS models have 600nits of brightness or something, but they're also twice as expensive as this and don't perform as well, as they don't have Ryzens yet. I would only describe this screen as "really bad" in comparison to super premium models like the XPS, Spectre, and maybe the Yoga C940.
