The TiVo Edge For Antenna with lifetime service sells for $599.98 (4 tuners and 2TB storage) on the TiVo website but has been sold out. This TiVo Edge is a bit different because it has 2 tuners and 500GB storage so it is $349 (2 tuners with 500GB) vs $599.98 (4 tuners with 2TB). If you use the 5% off coupon code, you are down to $331.55.

Great price, but 2 tuners and 500gb is a bit light. Wonder if you can easily upgrade the HDD like the older ones.

Ugh, need the cable card six tuner version with lifetime. Would replace my Roamio. I usually replace these things every six years, since 2002. I'm due.

I don't have this TiVo Edge but I have a splitter in the back of my television and using my cheap $30 Homeworx. Homeworx has only 1 tuner so I can still watch television and record at the same time. I would definitely recommend in using a splitter behind your television so one would have the television tuner and the TiVo's 2 tuners for 3 total tuners. You can record 2 shows at the same time and still watch another show from your TV's tuner. I have never found the need to record 3 or more tv shows at the same time..... As for the storage? I would prefer 1TB but I can definitely be happy with 500GB. I am using 500GB portable storage (spare) and using only 200GB storage and should definitely be deleting the majority of the shows as I seen them. With my Homeworx, 1 hour of Dateline 720p episode is 3.7GB so that equates to 135 hours with my 500GB hard drive. I've been using my cheap homeworx DVR so much and even more than even my Fire TV stick that I can easily delete +100GB storage that I already seen.

Is this HOMEWORX review accurate???... "This is not a Tivo kind of recorder. You can't have it record a particular program whenever it comes on. You set up channel, start/stop times and how often (once, daily, weekly) and that's what you get"

.... If so, than I would agree 500gb is enough if all you do is manual recordings. If you want to automatically record a show based on the name of the show, such as entire season's worth, 500 gigabytes quickly becomes not enough.

Homeworx con is that they do use that once, daily, weekly. No season recording option. It isn't set up nicely like fire recast or TiVo. If you are recording a syndicate show that plays monday-friday, you gotta set it recordings to "daily" but readjust it weekly so you don't record saturday and sunday. However you can set up weekly if your show plays weekly at the the same time. For example a 1 hour show may take 3.7GB and there are like 20 episodes in a season... 74GB... Maybe after you watch every 5 episodes, delete them along the way. If you got a family that all use the DVR, the 500GB may be too little. Homeworx is too confusing for others so I only use the Homeworx DVR. TiVo and Fire Recast is much more user friendly.

Does Tivo Edge support ATSC 3.0? Without this feature I would say this will be a paperweight in the next 2 years since ATSC 3.0 -- UHD broadcast is starting to roll out this year.

Definitely does NOT support ATSC 3.0. That needs special hardware, which Tivo has not deployed.

Incorrect. More to the point, stations that do voluntarily broadcast in ATSC 3.0 must continue to offer ATSC 1.0 signals for at least five years after the switch. ATSC 3.0 has been tested but only a couple has recently switched over just recently so we are talking about June 2025 realistically.... Not only 2 years. Also TiVo most likely would come out with adapters by 2025 when it is common and much cheaper than now. Right now an ATSC 3.0 tuner kit costs over $1k. No way could TiVo, Tablo, Hauppauge, Channel Master or Fire TV Recast DVRs could add ATSC 3.0 without it being crazy expensive right now. Too new of technology.

ATSC 3.0 adapter kit for televisions will be available in 2025 too. It won't be costing $1k either. It will definitely be reasonably priced by then.

Thanks for the info --- cannot see any value in this one over the Roamio until ATSC 3.0 is integrated so I will keep the cash in the pocket for now Applause
