This is a long read but has pretty good info on how audioholics (one of the trustable and knowledgeable reviewers out there) certify each subwoofer they review https://www.audioholics.com/louds...-room-size if you want to skip all reading, the monolith 15 is extreme certified which means this should easily fill spaces greater than 5000 cu feet. Hope this helps

Picture is only half of the movie.
What is more of a question is if you don't care about high end audio, why are you in a thread for it?

Two Monolith 12s would be better than either, punch wise and price wise Smilie. If you are into movies, recommend getting one M12/M15 for now instead of SB2000. Later on, you can add on another if need be or when economy allows.

Update: Missed the fact that M12 prices are now in the 800s. There was once a deal for them in the 600s, was referring to that price
Two of these monoliths will be $2400 though. my 70% use is music so I am thinking two svs sb-2000 for same price as one of this monolith would be a better choice?

If more into music, then SB makes sense to a lot of people. However, remember the fact that the M12 and 15 could be used in sealed modes too. If not in a hurry, I would wait for an M12 deal in the 600s (if it ever comes back) and use it sealed instead of the SB, but that's just me . I love SVS for their CS, build and sound quality, but not for their prices Smilie

Thanks for the inputs. I will go with one svs sb-2000 now for music listening for $600, and will add another later if I need more base. I fell that sb-2000 price reduction to $600 for a svs brand new sub is a great value for money, like we get from hsu subs. One more factor in favor of sb-2000 for me is nice 15 inch cube form factor!

Price reduction might be because they launched the Pro models in the SB and PB series both. Something to watch before you pull the trigger

correct, and it makes this svs sb-2000 within my budget. I am hesitant to pay $1000+ for a sub even though it might be worth for the impact.

lol thanks! b.t.w. thanks for the youtube link. Never thought that some folks can be sensitive to sealed subs, probably due to their tightness. I will watch-out for that during the return period.

Anyone purchased and received it yet? Any comparisons with the M12 ported vs the 15" for a 2000 cu ft room? Is M15 an overkill over the M12

I received mine. I don't have a M12 so can't compare, but as soon as I tested it I bought a second one so I'm pretty happy with it. My space is fairly large (~11,000 cu ft) so i definitely need 2, but even the 1 hits pretty hard.

Cool, how hot on the volume knob have you set each for ? Tested against any port chuff/noise with subsonic frequencies(SVS is heard to have it as the driver mostly takes care of most of it instead of the port lifting some of the load. PB4K definitely had it while I owned it)?

Maybe you should get one m15 to pair wit the existing m12. Both being monoliths, I guess it should be good
