The squid kids called Inklings are back to splat more ink and claim more turf in this colorful and chaotic 4-on-4 action shooter. For the first time, take Turf War battles on-the-go with the Nintendo Switch system, and use any of the console's portable play styles for intense local multiplayer* action. Even team up for new 4-player co-op fun in Salmon Run! Two years have passed since the original Splatoon game was released, and two years have also passed in Inkopolis! So expect a fresh wave of fashion, not to mention new weapons and gear. Dual wield the new Splat Dualies or stick to mainstays like chargers and rollers, which have been remixed with new strategic possibilities. As always, Turf War is the favored sport among Inklings, but they also dig ranked battles, taking down Octarians in a robust single-player campaign, and battling enemy Salmonids in one dangerous part-time job! No matter which way you play, splat at home or on-the-go with Nintendo Switch. Staying fresh never felt so good. System Requirements: Supported Platforms: Nintendo - Switch Nintendo account required for game activation and installation. Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and Nintendo Account required for online play. Not available in all countries. Internet access required for online features. Physical copies for this game is much better especially at the same cost. Has resale value...
Yes and no. If you're not familiar with it get the physical so you can see if it's for you first. But if you know you want it, perk of having this game be digital is that you can always go through it without the hassle of always swapping the small game card to put in. Splatoon 2 is played by me and my friends multiple times a week since the free weekend a few months ago and it would be annoying to keep having to swap.

FYI this game does not have split screen if you're looking to play multiplayer locally.
Wish I had known that when I ordered the physical copy from Gamestop. Guess I'll be returning it. That is insane that it doesn't have split screen. Thanks for the heads up.

Unless you have little kids that lose the tiny ass cartridges 100% of the time. I think Nintendo intentionally made them that small so that kids would lose the game and parents would re-purchase a 2nd, 3rd time. I would tell my kids too bad, it's lost forever but I love the switch just as much as they do. Digital all the way for this household.

aww man that sucks. Glad I saw this as I was about to buy it for split screen with my son. What a bummer.
Digital is way better for good games which this game is not. So I guess you are right. 40 is a rip off for what you get in this game.
Well, as a general life's advice, for a game with higher than 4-star review generally everywhere, it's better to play safe and say something like "it's not up to my taste".
I liked this game a lot personally.
