We have the VertuoPlus machine. The coffee it makes is superb. Just understand going in that the pods for the Vertuo line machines are about 1.10 a piece and there are no generics.

You can recycle your pods with some success but the machine can be finicky with these. The best luck I have had is with the Mycap lid with filters. They seem to work much better than the stick on lids. The downside of this is you have to fill the pod in the morning, when curmudgeonry is at its peak.

On the upside I can count the number of times I have visited Starbucks in the past year on one hand.
I think Bed Bath and Beyond has a better deal on Nespresso® by Breville® VertuoPlus Deluxe Coffee and Espresso Maker Bundle in Titanium.

Got it for $99 + tax and free shipping, total $106.99.

You just need to put your e-mail when 20% off pop up comes up and it adds the coupon to cart automatically.

That's really odd. I have a Pixie at home and one at work that get used a lot. Never had an issue with clogging. Due you descale the machines?

BTW - don't want to be negative but these prices at Macy's aren't particularly low.

I've had 3 nespresso machines and they always end up getting clogged often. Do you have better experience in higher-priced nespresso machines like the Latissimna?

I have a lattisima pro and a creatista plus. Never experienced a clog. With the creatista plus sometimes the pod is a little finicky to get in but both are wonderful machines.

I've been eyeing a Nespresso machine and leaning towards the Original Line vs the Vertuo Line for the fact that it has more variety of pods available and I don't need larger sizes.

Recommendations on an Original Nespresso machine?

But still good prices for anyone who want to purchase a machine now.

Three suspected reasons for clogging:
1) I don't descale the machines often. How often should this be done?
2) I use non-Nespresso pods I bought from Europe.
3) Maybe my machines are low-end -- Essenza and Citiz

I've had a Nespresso CitiZ C120 for maybe 8 years - even took it to the office for a couple of years where many used it daily, never a clog or problem. Be sure you always use filtered water (not tap water, in my opinion) and periodically clean the machine with a descaling solution (I recommend the same for all coffee making machines.)

The Pixie has been very reliable for me. If Nespresso brings back the Machine Plan as promised, I'm going to grab a Creatista Plus.

Keurig? I haven't tried a nespresso with a reusable pod.

Thanks so much for the tip. We'll avoid the tap water. How often do you use a descaling solution?
