I did not see this deal posted anywhere. Klipsch r51M new for $145 on Bestbuy, and open box going as low as $119.

Looks like Crutchfield also has the same deal, so this might be a Klipsch deal overall.

Hi Guys,

I currently have Klipsch theater pack 5.1, these speakers would be a good addition as surround speakers in the front?

I am wondering the same. I have -

1) RF-42II Towers-1
2) RC-42 II Center-
3) RS-41II Surrounds
4) BIC Acoustech PL-200 Subwoofer

I am looking to replace 3) above.

Anything in the $300 range should do nicely, like the Yamaha RX-V485BL currently $329.99 at Best Buy. Any major brand - Sony, Onkyo, Pioneer, Denon should do fine. Just make sure it has a "Subwoofer Pre Out" plug on the back.

Did some research on these. The sensitivity rating is 93 decibels, meaning it takes only one quarter the power from the receiver compared to speakers with 87 sensitivity. Great reviews. Just put in my Best Buy order. Curbside pickup of course. Smilie

These have larger drivers 5.25" compared to the 4" drivers on the R41M, but I believe the rest of the specs are similar. I just picked up mine today from Best Buy, and also picked up a simple Stereo Sony Receiver w Bluetooth (I'm in a tiny apartment in NYC so 2 speakers + my Logitech PC subwoofer re-wired to the Stereo Receiver works great!)

Picked em up today too! ALways surprises me how "not small" some bookshelf speakers can be lol!

I've been looking for some speakers like these to use with my computer, but I don't think I'm ready to pull the plug on it just yet.

I have the theater pack and i picked These bookshelf speakers today. Way larger, but have not heard. I figured it gave me room to grow. I hope it's worth it.

Is that overkill for a 2.1 setup?

I have a pair of R41M which is the smaller 4" version of this speaker. It is a very good speaker for its price. I would say the largest strength of this line of speakers including the R51M is its ultra high efficiency. Im running the R41M as front channel speaker for home theater, through a very capable Pioneer elite receiver and am very pleased. I will order these R51M as an upgrade to my smaller version. The smaller ones will go in the garage and will be run off of one of those pocket sized mini 2 channel amps, connected to an Amazon alexa dot. That use case of running off of a small underpowered amp is where these speakers really shine. They are so efficient that they can still put out good sound even when underpowered.

Many of the 50w mini amps don't actually put out the advertised power and may actually only be capable of half the advertised output (sometimes fault of amp design, sometimes inadequate power supply) Other speakers will still work in that situation but the sound does suffer. The Klipsch in particular are very efficient and therefore don't experience the same loss in sound quality at lower power ratings.

I have been looking for a 2nd home theater receiver that can be dedicated to music in the garage. I have been very impressed by the constant supply of very adequate receivers on the second place markets such as Nextdoor, facebook marketplace, Letgo. Depending on where you live, with a tiny bit of patience it should not be hard to find a $300 to $500 receiver for $80 to $120. The great deals go fast so check frequently but there always seems to be lots of used deals if you are willing to move quickly on it.

Especially if you are just looking for music and don't need tons of hdmi inputs, you can get even better deals on higher end used receivers without the numerous hdmi inputs some people think they need. Most current TV's are capable of handling all of your inputs and you only need a toslink or optical audio input to receiver or a single hdmi channel to push the audio from TV to receiver

I recently got 2 pairs of r41m from costco for 90 each and was using them as front and rear speakers..
Would these make a better front speaker pair and worth an upgrade over those?
