Edge lit, ips panel. Big screen but low picture quality.
Crazy that the top tier smartphones cost almost this much now. Who would have imagined paying $1500 for a 6.8 inch display 5 years ago? TVs getting bigger & cheaper, smartphones getting bigger & more expensive.

If not for the poor contrast and grey "blacks" I would consider upgrading from my Samsung NU8000 75 inch which was only about $300 cheaper. Wow.
IPS vs VA is a massive difference. It's not just a personal preference thing. Due to its extremely limited contrast ratio IPS can't display black, they can't do deep vivid colors and they can't do HDR. All the top ranked TV's are either VA or OLED

Picked one of these up yesterday. I'm hoping it gets delivered without damage like the Amazon comments have proven.

86" and edge-lit? There will almost certainly be issues with light-bleed around the bezel, and uneven lighting in general. Get a 65" with full-array backlighting for half the price and move your sofa closer to the TV. Smilie

I have this model. Picture is actually better than my previous Samsung. IPS vs VA is just personal preference. OLED is different story though.
I agree default picture setting is horrible. You have to perform some serious customization to enjoy full potential. Not a 'plug and watch' TV.
Not recommended for non-techies.

Hows the motion stuttering or blur or whatever you call it? Sports? Games?

Am I reading this right, that the native refresh rate is 120?

I couldn't find any rtings reviews

Ips on this size is a crime. Poor black level and uneven backlight along with edge lit... Meh.
