I've had bad luck with screw on inflators. The clamp type are much better.

Be really careful with these tiny inflators and make sure to allow it to remain cool (take your time and add breaks). This video does a good job showing how hot similar inflators can get, and the problems this might cause.

Personally, I have this one by Husky from Home Depot and have had success with it for a few years without failure. Cost is $50ish, sometimes on sale for a bit less.

I had a harbor freight one. Girlfriend had a flat. It got the tire half up and I stepped back in a couple of mins to check on it and the tire was empty. It melted it's own hose.

Just a heads up- I had a similar Tacklife mini compressor (ACP1A), which was a disappointment. It only lasted about 5 times before completely burning out. I will agree with above that you have to take breaks to avoid overheating. To reference, it was probably 10mins to get 10psi on an average-sized car tire. Overall buy these for emergency only.

I would avoid this plastic design. There are deals to be had on Amazon at times, but this is not one of them.

I bought an inflator for about $17 on Amazon with coupon from 1saleaday that had the metal heat sink design and it has been working great.

With all of these, yes you don't want it to run for a long time, so best keep an eye on your tire and don't let it go too low. My car has tpm so I start adding air even if it is just 1-2 psi lower than my target. I like to keep it on the higher side of pressure to avoid tire wear (downfall is that it is a slightly rougher ride).

I've had my APC1C for 2.5 years now and use it whenever I need to add air to my car's tires. If you're filling from flat, it will take a little time, and you should give it a break. For topping off tires, you can do all 4 tires without any issues (I've even done 8 tires from both cars without any issues). My power cable is just long enough to reach my tires on my hatch and SUV (working one side at a time, then transferring the pump to the other side). My biggest complaint was that it uses a screw on fitting which in theory is nice, however, I've had tire valves with stripped threads, and I wasn't able to screw the hose on. Luckily, Tacklife heard the complaints and started selling this adapter:

They should probably just add this to the kit, because $10 for this adapter which should be a part of the kit is a bit ridiculous, especially when the whole pump a little over double the price of the adapter. Overall, it's a good value and nice to have if you use it for what it's meant for.

A lot of these portable inflators mention in the instructions to not run them for over 10 mins or so. That's usually enough to fill one tire from flat to about 25psi.

I personally wouldn't buy this just because it connects to the 12v outlet. This means it's limited to probably about 4 amps. You're better spending 2-3x the money on one that connects directly to the battery. I bought one from harbor freight for $45 after coupon and use it weekly for the past 2 years after driving in the sand, it takes 5 minutes to fill all my tires from 15psi to 32 psi. No pause in between tires. This would probably need a break after each tire to cool. Check out Project Farm on YouTube for an in depths review of tire inflators. In an emergency situation I'm sure this would inflate a tire that had a nail/screw in it and you just need to get home, just do some research before you trust a low priced item you're going to be depended on.

Echoing what others have said about the heat/duty cycle of these small units being a problem. Spend more for a better battery connected unit. I had purchased three small units like this one for some employees as well so tire plugs (our store locations had heavy construction on the same street and we were constantly getting nails/flats.) All three were super slow, and two died within a few months. I bought husky replacements which are slightly better....

i got this for $27+ tax, because it touts 4 hour continuous operation (doubt it), and fan, tested it on a 195 /16 inch fully deflated tire from 0 to 35 psi took 6 min 15 sec, cigarette tip and hose didn't get hot, though ambient temp was only 70 degree, but another brand compressor tip got hot to the touch with 2 min of pumping,....back of manual says made in China but also Hamburg Germany, hope it's of German design

Don't waste your money on this shill post. I wasted so much time and money on these crappy tire compressors. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money and buy something that will last and you can actually count on in an emergency or for every day use. I bought this one 8 years ago and it's been awesome. Will inflate a tire in less then a minute. Doesn't overheat and built like a tank. Compact enough to easily keep in the car. They do make ones that connect directly to the battery as well but I've been fine using this plug in. Haven't blown a fuse yet.
