    I'm mainly looking for max loudness outdoors.

    Are either one significantly louder than the JBL Charge 2+ that I'm currently using?

    They sound great with fidelity but lack bass for the size IMO. Buy two because true stereo separation is worth having.

    Other colors are available on Amazon for $100. I just bought two new ones in magenta.

    Lots of positive reviews out there for the UE Megaboom 3. consistently rated as one of the best portable speakers under $200.

    We have one and use it in our small cafe. Bass is not the greatest, but mids are good and the 360 sound does fills out our cafe nicely (~1500 sq feet, even with 20ft high ceilings) - and it can get LOUD if you really turn it up.

    I got it for this price as well from Best Buy a while back... for the price, it's a no brainer if you are looking for a Bluetooth speaker.

    One thing to note, it does NOT have an AUX in.. so it's connected via Bluetooth only.

    I've got the Charge 2+, Charge 4 and the Megaboom 3. The Mega 3 goes a little louder then the Charge 4 but I prefer the Charges by a good margin because of their bass abilities. To my ears the Charge 2+ sounds the sweetest but doesn't get very loud compared to the other two. You should probably look at some larger speakers like the JBL Extreme if ya want max volume out doors. Of course the other option, and it's a good one, is stringing to Charges together. I'm sure there's some nice bigboy BT speakers out there but I haven't investigated the larger sizes. If you're just using it by your patio or swimming pool there's probably some really good wired options too.
