Forgot to post this last week but just remembered after seeing the V8 on the FP. No one seems to have posted this yet so here it goes.

Main difference between the V8 and V10 Slightly bigger on all sides as well as 3 speeds vs 2 speeds, 5 vs 3yr warranty and $7 more currently. Everything else is similar. Found this when looking for the V8 at Costco for $20

  • Oscillates and flips for multi-directional airflow
  • 3 speed settings with quiet operation
  • Tight grill spirals with 5.6" grill diameter
  • Backed by a 5-year satisfaction guarantee

Maybe but MSRP is $50(obviously inflated) and lowest price anywhere else is $35. Walmarts "Pre sale" price is $30. Hard to say it's an everyday price when not a single other retailer is offering it that low and everyone else has it priced 40% higher. To each there own though I guess.

I would say it depends on the setting and if you can sleep with a bit of white noise. The V8 thread had some of the same comments. On full blast I guess mine is a little louder but on settings 1 or 2 I don't think it's that loud.

FP deal on the V8s, see comments for more opinions on the matter. they are pretty similar fans.

Depends on if you mean like a Camaro with straight pipes or more like a Buick. Different markets, different approaches to NVH.

FWIW, black color only at Costco, is the v8, and I'm not sure it is still on coupon.

The fan is relatively loud and the switch is a bit clumsy as it requires lateral force. The other drawback is that there are only two speed setting so if you just want a gentle breeze that's not happening. I'd say it is worth it if you want a compact fan for cheap and don't mind those things though.

I bought this fan at my local Wal-Mart for $24, and while it looked sleek, it has absolutely no power in terms of blowing wind especially when they claim its a "personal air circulator" the 1st setting is the only setting where you can actually feel anything the other two is near silent and next to no wind which means no cooling at all and in summer that means it does f***-all so I returned it. Do yourself a favor and get one of these Honeywell Turbo Force Fans [walmart.com]

I have this brand fan and it looks almost like this which I purchased couple years ago. I was using it for a while for a desk fan but then upgraded to a pedestal oscillating fan.

This has a small diameter and is not a whole body fan more for the face alone. Now a days I use it as a body fan after shower to air dry few areas Wink

It was hard pressed to find any real comments by customers that didn't receive a promotion from vornado. The real comments are not nearly as glowing as the paid for ones, so don't truat.
