That's about half of what I paid for it at target last week!

Just beware this can cause burns to their skin in the area applied. Look at the pictures of cats who were affected, and complaints on the product page. To be fair, not all cats have that reaction.

needle-less syringe, some medications for dogs and cats are identical formula (not all) so some people buy massive dog tubes and do the syringe thing

I use that method and get the blunted needles from the vet to attach to the syringe, draw up the proper amount, and apply it topically along their back from neck to tail. I find that method is better to get it along the skin top and not laying on top of the hair/fur. nod

Just a thought I wouldn't put it any much lower down from their shoulder blades where they can directly lick.

Revolution is slow (36 hours) on fleas compared to Advantage (1 hour) AND requires the flea to bite and feed on the blood of the cat to get the selamectin (flea killer) vs the contact kill of Advantage II. Not only is Advantage II faster on killing of fleas and does it on contact, BUT if you have an active flea infestation in your house, the Advantage II will help kill the eggs and larvae in the environment, Revolution won't help with this.

Everyone in entitled to their opinion, but understanding the differences in HOW the products works (Contact Kill vs Bite to Die) is important too.

As for the overseas situation, I have concerns with things made in China and India (usually the generic stuff), but as long as it is legit Advantage II by BAYER, it is made in Germany 100% by BAYER.

you're not wrong but it's a matter of what problem is trying to be addressed, if fleas are already under control, it feels like revolution keeps my cats more comfortable and effect lasts longer, but yeah at a panic emergency infestation level maybe advantage better

my last solution for overseas was UK source but I don't trust them either anymore, the chinese copies have gotten insanely good for everything, even human medication, so flea medication is an easy packaging knockoff

anything with a decently high price for a tiny vial is a huge target for fakes

Just be really careful about the exact product and ingredients because the newer formulas for dogs (Advantix and Advantage Multi) are both TOXIC to cats. The ingredient to avoid is permethrin.

Also, it's very handy to get a kit that includes both the syringe (without a needle) and a small glass bottle. Empty the one time use container for dogs into the bottle, extract a measured amount with the syringe, then reseal the bottle.

I meant to add and forgot that after I apply it I lightly pinch their fur all the way down the line I applied on the skin so it helps keep it below the fur and absorbs better into the skin and to avoid their getting any when they lick their fur later. So far they've not had any issue over the years, but the possibility definitely can happen as you warned. nod

Exactly, as I avoid any and all medications (human or animal) made in China where there is little quality control and lots of corners being cut to achieve the lowest cost. I came out of the pharma industry and that's always been the case. Bottom line: read the label as to country of origin.
