With the front page 3700x $190 cheaper, who would really get this? The money saved can get a gpu or mobo

Or get a 1070kf for $375 and do the same thing. $450 for a 8 core 16 thread is nuts.

Newegg values that Intel Feel the Force bundle at $150.
If you value it at less than $50, than Microcenter:

$400 Intel Core i9-9900 Coffee Lake 3.1GHz Eight-Core LGA 1151 Boxed Processor

This is literally coming with 3 free games and it will never ever sell new for $350. LMAO

You might be able to buy one used for $350 in 2022 or 2023.

This is it. This is full closeout pricing on the 9900K / 9900 and it will not go any lower. They will sell out and sell out fast. If you've got a nice Z390 or Z370 MB or other LGA1151 and need a CPU upgrade, this is the time to act because they will be GONE soon. DO IT NOW. There is not some massive stock of 9900K they have to burn through to get to fire sale pricing, 10th gen has become available now.

This CPU will hold it's value for quite a while because it's the best chip for 4+ years of Intel MB. Not to mention being a very good CPU in general.

If you are building new, go with a 10700K or 10900K.

I guess not with those games offered with the cpu it wouldn't (those games can be bought for like $25 to $30 each fyi). But keep in mind 9900k is basically end of the road. No possibility of upgrade without changing out the mobo.

Yes that it the point. You should not build new with a 9900K today, you should go 10700K. But if you have a good LGA1151 board and are considering a CPU upgrade, this the time to do it. It's the best chip available and will take a while to lose value, it will always be in demand because it's the best chip for those boards. Similar to how the 2600K held value for a very long time.

Just curious, for those who have (or is going to have) this, what kind of cooler/fan is good for the 9900k?

Take your AMD garbage elsewhere. The 9900K is comparable in overall performance to the similarly priced 3900X and smokes the 3700X, while being a far higher quality product.
Keep the over priced Intel junk. Its only higher priced, not higher quality.
