Support Brick & Mortar stores, many having a hard time coming out of this lockdown. Competition is crucial to keeping the deals coming.

3700X for $270 at Microcenter [microcenter.com] (PU only, if you have one near you)
Edit: 3700X Currently cheaper on Newegg, but Microcenter does price-match.

3800X for $300 at Microcenter [microcenter.com] (PU Only)

3900X for $400 at Microcenter [microcenter.com] (PU Only)

It would be nice if Microcenter wasn't 4 hours away, or if other more local retailers would have sales.

I bought a 3600 to hold me off two weeks ago while waiting for Zen 3 to release when I built my new pc... all these sales are making it tempting to return that 3600.... But.. Must... Fight the urge and be patient lol

they can sell cpu cheaper only because they don't ship

Yeah, I'd love to just be able to grab one, but there are 25 in the US, in 16 states, and if you don't have one there just isn't really any other local alternatives. The reality is Microcenter is just a tiny chain overall.

That's not the issue, even though it would cost more than $5 to ship. The issue is their pricing is a loss leader, to get people in the door, because they know many will buy other things.

MC is not losing any money on (desktop)CPU pricing.. apparently this person knows nothing about wholesale 101.. to stay in business just about everything in the store earns a profit with few exceptions such as YMMV deals which are unicorns. The cost of running a B&M store is too damn high for them not to make a profit. The wholesale prices are usually quoted in price per 1,000 CPUs but MC probably deals in the 10,000s buy range and must obviously get a heads up on coming price cuts so they don't order thousands of chips prior to the cut...
