This was hard to find for a while. I want this, but I already have Century Spice Road, still in shrink. And I hope to get the others in the series. This is the lowest I've ever seen this available, but it's still more than my buy now and ask questions later price.

I HAVE played Century Spice Road with friends though and I can recommend. While the game play is different, if you like Splendor, I think this will go over well. Family weight game I think will be a hit in any group that tolerates board games of any kind.

Thank you for name-dropping Splendor, which is a "Tier 2" game for me (I rank my games from Tier 1 through Tier 6, with 1 being my favorites). I'll be purchasing this mostly because of your comment.

I haven't played the Golem edition, but my understanding is that it's the same as Spice Road, with a different theme. So if you liked Spice Road when you played it, you should like Golem.

The only question is whether you'd want two games so similar but with a different theme.

I love this game. It's the game my board game group plays the most.

And while Golem is just a reskin, it is so much more enjoyable than the standard Century Spice Road game. Spice Road has boring wood cubes, and this has nice jewels. And the artwork is fantastic.
