The ViewSonic (identical... 27", QHD, 144Hz, 1ms) from BHPhoto that comes back every couple weeks beats these by $45 per monitor. They always seem to be 299.99 when in stock.
Supposed re-stock is mid-late August, if anyone wants to wait. Save yourself another $90.
I just bought my Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD recently for slightly less than $300. Very happy with my gaming monitor.
Yes, it may have been lower at different points in time, but if it sells out before you can purchase at that lower price, it's as if it was never available.

I almost bought this monitor a few times over the past month (at full price) but hesitate because I'm assuming the contrast will be worse than my current VA panel.

the viewsonic is a bit slower in terms of response times (this uses an LG panel, viewsonic uses a different one, I think it's AUO or Panda)
EDIT: Innolux, that's the panel. Same Panel in the Acer VG271UP.
