I've been wanting this drive for a few months now, but it seems to never drop in price until now. I can wait until December if I have to though.

Does anyone think this will drop to a lower price by then or should I jump now? I've been watching it since probably November and it never drops.
If I remember correctly, there was an opportunity to grab this at about $230 around Black Friday last year - by combining a steep discount on samsung.com with a 20% CB from you know where.

If you have a student account with Unidays, you can get this for $332.49 for the 2TB or $170.99 for the 1TB directly from Samsung.

True...but with sales tax you are back to around $358 plus or minus depending on your state sales tax rate

What is the best method to move windows 10 and the boot drive to this NVME? Appreciate suggestions on this.

why would someone need a 2TB NVME? versus, say, 4x $65 500GB 2.5" SSDs? curious question

Yes, I already had bought it (970 evo 2TB) at full price a few months before that, but I still considered getting one and reselling it because it was a crazy price (felt too lazy in the end). But the deal probably lasted just one day if that, and it's possible that not everyone had the same 20% CB offer (it might have been a customized offer).

Samsung themselves have it for this now, so most other stores should soon copy the price.

For those who don't know, though, the reason they are doing it is the 980 pro and presumably the 980 evo are coming within approximately a month. (could be any day now or at the end of August).

I think I personally would be fine getting this one and then I am going to get a 980 pro for my main one. I already have a 1tb 970 evo plus and 512gb 970 pro, sealed, and will sell at least the pro.

btw, annoying that BB doesn't carry the 2tb because I have enough credit there to pay for the whole thing if they carried it.

I have 3 pcie 4 slots, so I don't really "need" a 2tb one, anyway, but still tempting.

I think its safe to say the 980 plus 1tb wont be sub-$200 when it's released if this gen is anything to go by, so $170 or $180 for the 970 plus seems ok to me
