What's the news: As Sprint and T-Mobile unify operations under the T-Mobile brand nationwide on August 2, the Un-carrier's supercharging competition for customers with their best deals ever for a limited time: four lines for just $25/month each, an unheard of price point for unlimited postpaid — or get 5G phones included for $5/month more each. All with included 5G access on the nation's biggest 5G network.
Why it matters: T-Mobile said a combined Sprint/T-Mobile would supercharge competition. Well, here it is.
Who it's for: Everyone – new and existing customers can get in on these deals.

https://www.t-mobile.com/news/un-...rier-deals

Supercharged Un-carrier. Supercharged Value.
For a limited time, starting July 24, new and existing customers, including small businesses, have two options:
Get four lines for $25 each per month, plus taxes and fees with autopay on T-Mobile Essentials. Existing customers who already have four lines (or want four lines) can also swap to this new offer. Got (or need) more than four lines? Every additional line after four can be added for just $20 more a line, up to six lines.
If you need 5G phones too, for just $5 more per line, get four lines for $30 each per month, plus taxes and fees with autopay on T-Mobile Essentials PLUS four Samsung Galaxy A71 5G included with bill credits and eligible trade-in.
This price point for unlimited postpaid is unheard of. As in, unlimited high speed data at this price has never been offered before for everyone in postpaid wireless in the history of ever. And it's just another powerful example of how T-Mobile and Sprint are better together. Sprint was offering a similar price point, but it included contractual commitments and 'step ups' that increased customers' bills over time, as in a 60% in a year increase. Now that the two companies are one, we're taking the best of Sprint — awesome, industry-leading price point for postpaid service with unlimited data right out the gate — and the best of T-Mobile — the Un-carrier philosophy that extends the best deals to new and existing customers, forbids exploding offers and an industry-leading 5G network with access included at no extra cost — and bringing them together in a 'no compromises' offer. Best value and best network. That's what a supercharged Un-carrier can do!

Terms and Conditions:
4 lines of unlimited for just $25 a line.
That's just $100 for a family of 4. With scam protection, free stuff every Tuesday, and 5G access included.
Limited-time offer; subject to change. Qualifying credit & minimum 4 lines required. Canceling any lines requires you to move to full priced Essentials; contact us. $5 more per line without AutoPay. Limit 1 offer per account. May not be combined with some offers or discounts (e.g., Carrier Freedom); existing customers who switch may lose certain benefits and monthly device credits.  5G: Capable device required; coverage not available in some areas. While 5G access won't require a certain plan or feature, some uses/services might. See Coverage details, Terms and Conditions, and Open Internet information for network management details (like video optimization). General Terms: Deposit, $10 SIM card, and, in stores & on customer service calls, $20 assisted or upgrade support charge may be required. Monthly Regulatory Programs (RPF) & Telco Recovery Fee (TRF) totaling $3.18 per voice line ($0.60 for RPF & $2.58 for TRF) and $1.16 per data only line ($0.15 for RPF & $1.01 for TRF) applies; taxes/fees approx. 4-38% of bill. Capable device required for some features. Not combinable with certain offers. Switching plans may cause you to lose current plan/feature benefits; ask a rep for details. Max 6 lines. Plan not available for hotspots and some other data-first devices. Unlimited talk & text features for direct communications between 2 people; others (e.g., conference & chat lines, etc.) may cost extra. Some messages, including those over 1MB, use data and may be unavailable internationally. Roaming: U.S. roaming and on-network data allotments differ: includes 200MB roaming. High-speed data is US only; in Canada/Mexico, unlimited at up to 128kbps; additional purchase required for data elsewhere. Calls from Simple Global countries, including over Wi-Fi, are $.25/min. (no charge for Wi-Fi calls to US, Mexico and Canada). Usage may be taxed in some countries. Service may be terminated or restricted for excessive roaming. Not for extended international use; you must reside in the U.S. and primary usage must occur on our U.S. network. Device must register on our U.S. network before international use. Video streams at up to 1.5Mbps. Optimization may affect speed of video downloads; does not apply to video uploads. For best performance, leave any video streaming applications at their default automatic resolution setting. Tethering at max 3G speeds. For the small fraction of customers using >50GB/mo., primary data usage must be on smartphone or tablet. Smartphone/tablet usage is prioritized over Mobile Hotspot (tethering) usage, which may result in higher speeds for data used on smartphones and tablets. AutoPay Pricing for lines 1-6. Without AutoPay, $5 more/line. May not be reflected on 1st bill. Coverage not available in some areas. Network Management: Service may be slowed, suspended, terminated, or restricted for misuse, abnormal use, interference with our network or ability to provide quality service to other users, or significant roaming. During congestion, Essentials customers may notice speeds lower than other customers and further reduction if using >50GB/mo, due to data prioritization. On-device usage is prioritized over tethering usage, which may result in higher speeds for data used on device. See T-Mobile.com/OpenInternet for details. See Terms and Conditions (including arbitration provision) at www.T-Mobile.com for additional information.

Pretty meh deal. Tax and fees extra. No international included. No Netflix. Essentially the same 4 for $100 at Metro or Cricket. Plus no deals for people that don't have four people to bring. Trade-in and bill credits for new phone. They have fallen far from being the uncarrier.
Can I bring Simple Choice plan free lines over to this Essential plan?

Edit:

Note: Tethering at max 3G speeds.

Edit 2:

Note 2: existing customers who switch may lose certain benefits and monthly device credits.
I don't think it's worth it.

No Canada/ Mexico LTE data coverage, and it doesn't mention anything about international coverage as well. I'm assuming it's not included.

I dont think anything is mentioned on that front. Will have to check with the TMobile Experts to get that clarified. I am on TMobile One and will wait till Aug 2 to see if there are any deals available for that plan.

So plans can be switched, but unless we see other guidance, I suspect 'free' lines will never transfer to a cheaper plan, only a plan upgrade ($$). Now that I think about it, has anyone moved free lines to a more expensive plan?

T-mobile has been unlimited for long time. I'm at SC plan with unlimited data, but this offer does not mention anything about throttle speed after certain GB. Is it true 4G unlimited or 2G unlimited?

I should have been more clear on explaining it, I was referring to the free line staying free after bringing to this plan, which needs to be clarified with the experts

Highly doubt the free lines from an old account will transfer over if you are switching to this new Plan.
I guess we'll see more details soon.
