Not multiple of the same card. 1 Freedom Unlimited and 1 Freedom — yes.

If you get rejected sometimes there are errors in their automation side or just simply discrepancies. I have always called the reconsideration lines for credit agencies and sometimes even gotten approved over the phone.

At the least it will tell you why you got denied and it will be a learning experience. In this specific case: Always call laugh out loud
That's not how the offer reads:

Earn a $200 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.* And earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target® or Walmart® purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in the first year.*
Yes you are. The Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited are different cards. Go and apply for it! If you do, please use someone's referral link (they get $100) to share the wealth!

So if i have chase reserve sapphire, am i eligible for this card?

I believe you can apply for this card and the offer is for new applicants so even if you have the sapphire you should be eligible. Give them a call to make sure.

Been doing alot of credit card sign up promotions. Always paying on time and such. I have good credit but i fear having 9-12 credit cards is bad, even though i use like 4 of them .
What you guys think? Is it worth grabbing another? Just curious of ur thoughts Slickdealers

No real harm in the long term to your credit. I was thinking of doing the same thing but the more research I did, I realized that having a good set up with few cards might be better than having a lot of cards. The signup bonuses are great but in the long term I want a chase/ Amex set up because I can get better return on points/rewards that they offer( airline, hotels, etc..) if you spread yourself too thin you're going to have rewards spread all over. Unless you're just doing it for the cash you get, then the bonus way is for you. It really depends on what you want.

Yup- plus on pay yourself back stuff for the other categories too

For example restaurant food (that you might've charged to CSR for the 3x points) can be "paid back" using the 5x points on grocery spend at a 1.5x bonus, effectively "earning" 7.5% cash equivalent on your grocery spend.

Or for the simplest version of the math- $1.00 of grocery spend gets you 5x UR points, transfer to CSR, and "pay off" 7.5 cents worth of spend in any of the pay yourself back categories you put on said CSR.

Grocery 5x is new? They don't apply to my CF Unl. groc spend. I'm about to sign other half up if this is case; debating between this and CS, this will clinch it

Edit: NM, applied & approved.

Anyone know how long this goes for? Im going to buy a new GPU when ampere launches but aftermarket cards might not be until Oct and I want to give myself as much time so I can purchase the GPU and get the $200 back.

Had this offer in my chase account. It said I was already pre approved for this offer. Just clicked apply and approved immediately. Smooth.

can this be combined with refer a friend bonus? thanks
I've tried searching this thread but could not find a definitive answer. Can someone confirm that the friend referral code automatically applies the 5% on grocery part of this offer or do you have to call?

No. The terms say this: "This product is available to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months."

You'll have to cancel the card then wait 2 years and reapply. If you actually do this you're a genuine slick dealer.

This or the citi 2%CB card? I think ive come down to these two. In the long run it seems like 2% CB is obviously better than 1.5%..

This isn't 1.5%.

It's 1.5x UR (and 5x on UR for groceries, temporarily)

1.5x UR can be worth more than 2% cash, sometimes significantly more, with the right combination of cards.

If you're someone who never travels that route probably isn't worth looking into though.

Ahhhh its 1.5x UR didnt realize that. Im definitely not going to be traveling for a while. Would u recommend either of these cards for everyday simple purchases? Groceries and online shopping. Ive read all ur posts in here, appreciate u helping!

Well, if you can get the new signup bonus on the unlimited for 5x UR on groceries, that's a great deal right now (plus the 20k UR for the signup bonus).

For online shopping- if you had top status at BoA their cash card at 5.25% would be tough to beat... otherwise there's some 5% options for this quarter specifically (DiscoverIT is 5% for paypal purchases, Freedom (not unlimited) is 5x UR for amazon)
