Not multiple of the same card. 1 Freedom Unlimited and 1 Freedom — yes.

If you get rejected sometimes there are errors in their automation side or just simply discrepancies. I have always called the reconsideration lines for credit agencies and sometimes even gotten approved over the phone.

At the least it will tell you why you got denied and it will be a learning experience. In this specific case: Always call laugh out loud
That's not how the offer reads:

Earn a $200 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.* And earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including TargetĀ® or WalmartĀ® purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in the first year.*
Yes you are. The Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited are different cards. Go and apply for it! If you do, please use someone's referral link (they get $100) to share the wealth!

Ok I'm pretty upset. Has anyone tried to call and complain they mislead us with this? I literally applied through this link, how did I get the wrong card? Says chase unlimited.

If I call is there any chance they could switch it give me the grocery 5%? Since I can't reapply for 90 days.

I received my card 1-2 weeks ago and have been using it regularly at grocery stores (Cubs, Aldis, Hyvee) but I noticed that I am only getting 1.5% CB instead of the 5X.

Anyone else having this issue?

I just got off the phone with them and they mentioned to me that the offer on groceries is an additional 3.5% on groceries (excluding Target and Walmart) for a total of 5% but only for 1 year. It's the Chase Freedom Unlimited in my case.

Thank you,, but how long should I wait to apply for it?
This is not true at all, you can certainly apply and get approved for this card as long as it's not the same one (if you got approved for CFU apply for CF, if the opposite then apply for CFU) and you haven't applied to more than 4 credit cards in total in the past 24 months

4 credit cards total or 4 from chase specifically? Also is there an easy place we can check our hard inquiries, maybe within credit karma somewhere?

Total, that's what's known as 5/24 chase rule, the system even seems to count if you were added as an authorized user to someone else's credit card. The only exception to that rule are store cards (as long as they can only be used in that store, not part of VISA, MC or Amex network)

Yes credit karma is a good place to check your inquiries, but in the case of the 5/24 rule we're talking about total open credit accounts with any bank and not necessarily inquiries

Edit: Also I initially made a mistake in the last post, I meant to write 24 months and not 48

I don't see the extra 3.5% either.

How does one send referral link, on the Chase.com portal?
Select the menu stack(top left), then the "Just For You" midway down the menu.

I have opened 6 credit cards in the last 2 years and closed 1 of those, but I still got approved. Only $600 CL though.

If it helps anybody, I didn't get approved instantly. Applied 3 days ago and still nothing. Looks like a scam to me. Royally pissed for giving my SSN to those shitheads.

Oh, credit score in low 800s, salary is in low 6 figures. fark YOU, CHASE. Not happy about their partners Slickdeals either. Frown

UPD: Just received spam email from doordash, never had one before. I guess whatever assholes are behind this already "shared" my email address with their "partners" (doordash subscription is part of the deal, if you read the fine print)

So don't write it off. I applied late July. Initially I got a call from Chase fraud department which I missed. When I called them back, a rep picked and told that I'll receive a letter. I got a letter asking to call back😠. When I called them, they asked some random questions to confirm my identity. Questions like the street I lived, zip code etc. They said the decision will be made in 10 days. I again got a letter 2 days letter asking me to fax my DOB and address proof. They recommended me to go to chase branch to fax as that is the fastest way to get my info into the system. Anyway I went to Chase bank on Friday to give my DL. When I checked status last night via IVR, I was approved for $15K CL, my largest CL yet.

I felt the same way you are feeling after they did a hard pull. I guess it's worth a wait as I make lot of grocery purchase and 1.5% is better than 1% I get on my cards for most categories
