Got this for $2.50 a few months back. It's been my daily driver for my desktop. Has the blue track light meaning no need for a mouse pad and it can work on glass surfaces which my desk is. Feels great in the hand and overall was a great buy. Scrolling is also very smooth. At this price it's still a decent buy.

MS mice kill batteries at least 2x faster than Logitech. At least in my experience over the years. Not a big deal with rechargeable AAs, just annoying.

After a while, the rubber separates from the wheel, and then it's garbage. The most I'd pay is $5.

They make an okay mouse but it's unified Logitech for me all day long. The m317 usually goes on sale for $10 every few months. The unified dongle is a plus when they include it.

Just personal experience. I would replace the MS batteries within a month regularly, Logitech goes for months. Same eneloop batteries.

Anyone know of a mouse in this price range with a front and back side button from a decent brand?

Nice mouse. I paid 9.99 like a couple of months ago from best buy it was store pick up though.
Rubber separates from wheel as other comments. I got extended warranty for 2 bucks so I will get the new one, once this one goes bad.

Got this for $2 at Best Buy (was posted here). Great tracking, however, I hate there are no detents in the scroll wheel. It's completely smooth. Haven't had the issue where the rubber separates from the scroll wheel as couple people posted above.
